Well scouting can fix that.
Not quite. Before you change the kind of army you're building, you have to make appropriate research. If you're in a tight fight with 20 LRMS in your fleet and another bunch pumping out, you won't just stop reinforcing your fleet and build two more military labs and research carriers and start building carriers just because you noticed the other guy build a starbase some 5 phase jumps away. Right now he's screwing you with so
Phase missiles excel at taking out 1 target i.e. caps & starbases
You are bringing up the subject of "Vasari bombers are teh best at killing SBs cause of Phase Missiles". First, I think it is not true (very high armor greatly reduces the advantage of bypassing shield mitigation, Vasari bombers are few, rebuild slowly, thus are less suited for prolonged attack and so on) but that's another thread. Second, as you said yourself, the Orky just doesn't
Ruiners are defenseless as they are. I truly believe they need to be remade. They are thought to be useable on the offensive, but they aren't.
N3rull the assumption that both persons have equal amounts of income means they both have equal amounts of ship slots researched and if he brings 40 carriers then you have 39+a sb for offense. If it takes that many to kill a sb then you have that many fighters to defend it.
You forgot that this orkulus he is building ain't exactly free of charge.
In case 2, that's a bit tougher. Here I completely see your point. It sucks, because as Vasari you have to bring bombers, not another orky, as support. If your opponent is smart he'll have fighters, meaning you either need to bring your own fighters or flak to take down his fighters first before you bring out your bombers. Gets a little hairy here I'll admit.
Gets hairy for yet another reason - TIME. Ok you decide you want
The ruiner is the only actual mine layer ship. Advent can make strikecraft, sure. But those strikecraft require antimatter to make and take some time after deploying once to use again. Not to mention using a slot of strikecraft for mine laying drones takes away a squad of fighters or bombers. The ruiner is unique because first it can lay down 2 different types of mines, and second it has the unique ability of just pointing at one sp
I mentioned it in a number of places - Orkulus needs a boost to its anti structure damage. Period. Everyone can bring more bombers, but should the Vasari be completely forbidden another approach? When someone is repairing faster than you can damage him, you will: - bring more Ogrovs if you're TEC - bring more starfish if you're Advent However, you can't bring another Orky. A fully offensively upgraded
A Kol using Adaptive Forcefield is in fact sending a handful of Chuck Norris wannabies in space suits out to roundhouse kick any projectiles that come nearby. Why wannabies? If it was Chuck Norris roundhouse kicking the projectiles, the Kol would become completely invulnerable (even to minidumps) and all attackers would be hit back by their own projectiles for 2332484275987324102830248345% returned damage.
I think Ruiner needs a buff. TEC can use its construction frigs to build mines and every planet they colonized has construction frigs. Advent uses Drone Hosts which are otherwise the best carriers in the game ®, so they don't have a problem here either. The Vasari, on the other hand, have to research the Ruiner (T3 research), spend money on the ruiner (moderately expensive), wait till the ruiner is finally built (it builds like a HC, dammit) and then
Buff Mines Increase damage? no vote - may or may not happen, now that I think of it.
The Base itself is very mobile and aggressive, so I think the low tier is a little overkill. Surely the devs wanted it this way, but I take issue with the fact that and Orkulus can be contructed before the thing its designed to destroy, and before anything thats designed to destroy it. And yes I am aware that there are several ships whose counters are a higher tech, but this isn't a ship, its a starbase, a structure that, when first constr
Terran Upgrade is linked to Desert Upgrade for Advent Tier 1, you must tech desert before you tech terran. Why? The Vasari are ALIENS and can up their terran pop % at level 1
It says in the description that Advent originate from a Desert planet. So it makes sense. What doesn't make sense is that they always start from a terran planet ;p.
Simple ones: LF - Light frigate do not mistake with LRF / LRM - Long Range Frigate (Javelis, Illums, Kanraks) HC - heavy cruisers DH - drone hosts MB - missile barrage. Make sure you don't miss it when your ally warns you of an MB. ND, Nans - Nano-Disassembler, Jarrasul Evacuator ability. "WTF you NOOB!" - "you're doing great, friend! Keep it up!"
Even after the shields come down, the nukes still do very little damage to the hulls. Only when we nuke their weak point (the cannon) does it go boom.
Error. Watch the movie again. Nobody in that movie ever nuked a ship with its shields down. And when they did, the 500-kilometer long mothership turned into a new nebula. Besides, this is just a movie. Do you think that any of those alien ships could actually DIVE into the Sun's chromosphere and sur
When you issue a move order to a unit with Dis. Missiles ON with autocast, it turns them off, so no serious problem here even if there are no enemies.
N3rull, before opening your mouth and spraying the forums with your complete misunderstanding nuclear physics and such, you should at least attempt to do your homework on the subject. The construction of a nuke is quite simple if you have the materials and machines capable of manufacturing with extreme precision. It is a
Cut that proletari's BS already please. AOE repairs don't affect enemies. MB doesn't destroy the marza using it. Telekinetic push doesn't throw your own fighters outof the gravwell. Repulse doesn't push your own illums away. Cluster rockets don't hit your own ships next to the target. Cleansing brilliance doesn't wipe your fleet. The Destra's aura doesn't damage your ships. Marza's radiation bomb doesn't do damage to friendlies. So for f...'s
You're right, the autocasting AI could use some love. However, fixing most other abilities is a complex operation of prioritising some actions over other in certain situations against certain targets. The case here is simple: Sentinel + not moving + on hold position => use Dis. Missiles.
I suggest you bought the Entrenchment. It does not add a heap of features, but the few are seriously game changing. Starbases and all new research options really gave some sense to tactical structures. Before, tactical structures were only useful as a support for the fleet. Now, a starbase with tactical structures supporting it can really stop a huge fleet in its tracks, even without a fleet on their own. Entrenchment is well worth the $10. That cannot be sa
