No point in getting pissed before anything actually has happened.
Right you are, and it always pays to stand up for yourself in situations like these... or at least they won't put up the cost :)
I was reading through the posts in this thread when i happened to want to google to wincustomize (yeah i know, create an icon) and i was instantly surprised by the search bar on my tabbed dock! I thought i knew all the possible places a docklet could go when this search one appeared! It wasnt untill i had entered my term that i realised it was infact the search bar from impulse (LOL!) <
you can't do anything to prepare for an upcoming vote
Hmmm... it would be better maybe if in the UP section you could select an area that you are particularly concerned about (trading/war/economics/research/etc.) and the section with the most votes will have a random but relevant vote on at the next vote? because in reality people vote on things they care about, not on any random thing that pops into their heads (well actually i think certain MP's might...).
Right, Im looking into purchasing Object Dock and/or Desktop, but before i hand out the cash I would like to know two things: The 'subscription'. Is this a subscription to get updates and support for the product or is it for that And for being able to use the product? So if I bought either now and didn't renew next year would i still be able to use them, but without updates and support? ObjectBar in Object Desktop states that it can: <
I have recently got the Windows 7 beta's (64-bit for this PC, 32-bit for the laptop) and am wondering whether you will be doing some sort of windows 7 beta group where you can test and report problems with impulse and its games while being played on windows 7? The only thing thats stopping me at the moment from just installing Impulse and having a go is that I managed to crash 7 with Fallout 3 and am looking at a reinstall (lol), lucky i had it on a caddy! Anyway, it would be
For me personally, my main gripe was that they took the money for what was a preorder, so essentially I had paid for a beta. The majority of online stores don't take the money for pre-orders until the product is shipped. To do otherwise without explicity saying so is bad practice if you ask me.
the reason you pay on placing the order is so that I cant just pre-order the game, download the beta, cancel my order and use the beta as a slightly buggy version of the full thi
I dint know that!
Right...and how many people were there that believed the world was flat before Columbus sailed? More than 2 or 3 no?
Now although I agree with the point your getting at I'd just like to point out that the Greeks and many major civilisations that were around at there time of Science knew the world was spherical from simple science they conduted from the safety of their own country, way before columbusw was even born. It was after the collapse of these great civilisations
(Note: I run Linux, but unlike many other open-source advocates, I don't have an inflated view of the significance of the Linux market to game developers.)
Im with you 100% there. I have games on one of my linux machines, but tbh i only have them on there because i can't get them for windows! Its amazing how good free arcade games get when there is nothing 'better' to compete! I do not see linux as a gaming platform, because it simply isnt good at it.The only way for ga
Are any moderators/stardock guys trawling these forums and noting these sorts of questions? and the answers? It would be brilliant for both the original poster and stardock if they could A) look into adding some of these games to impulse and B) Recomend a couple of games supported by Impulse. Of course B requires a bit of A.
I like the Fow sharing idea :) it would help massively when playing larger maps (and discourage me from going in all guns b;azing then getting my head chopped off :P )
have you checked the option menus in game to see if you can change the defualt save location? You can change mod location etc so if you could make the defualt your flash drive it may be a lot easier for you! But im not sure on that one and cba loading up the game to check lol
If you're really evil, you can use the Spore ship alternate tactic- have all your troop transports stop by the closest starbase to your target that has a Taco Bell, load up, wait about an hour, and Hyperspace towards the target planet. The tricky part is getting everyone to flush just as the ships pull up.
Very good :) But yeah it Should be impossible, well GC3 will fix that!
This is an idea that jumped on me while replying to another post (Alignment of the Korx), basicaly Ive thought of some ways i'd like to be able to interact with my galactic peers, ones that might never be put into GC2 but i would love to see in GC3! Renting out a planets construction teams. When youve got a massive planet thats perfect for building great big monolithic ships but your a bit strapped for cash wouldnt you just love to put it up for rent? I can see this working in
I wish we had more ways to 'trade' with others, be it renting them a starship construction planet or going halves on the rent for certain starbases. In fact that gives me an idea! new post time!
Sorry this is an impulse forum and therefore we will show support for impulse and only tell you how to do it in impulse, which just happens to be the same way to do it in steam. Anyway, what you can do: open 'Impulse'. Right click on the game and select backup/archive game files Follow the wizard through. Go to where the backup is and put it onto your pendrive. You will also need the setup.exe you used to install Impulse/Steam. Go to the next
