Trying to go to 'Dynamic Dream Settings' while the 'Water Dream' is playing results in a dialogue telling me 'This dream has no user configurable settings". Lies! All lies!!! EDIT : Using DreamManager to play a new dream does not get recognised by the 'configure deskscapes' window and presumably it was still thinking it was displaying a different dream.

Thanks for the info all. Last I read MB suggested that when DS3 supports double clicking it should just 'work' (as that's the method DM supposedly uses to activate a new Dream), obviously this is not the case after all/something else probably minor is holding it back. Guess I will just wait it out a bit longer :)
You can apply the dreams if you want by double clicking on them from your folder on drive E.
Is that new to the second beta? I've been holding off upgrading because I need MasterBarons DreamManager to work. If the second beta is compatible then I guess I'll have to reinstall Impulse and check it out :)
Seconded. A Windows 7 program dealing in backdrops really *needs* to take advantage of this functionality imo... it's long overdue...
I have this 'problem' but since I use Dream Manager a new wallpaper is selected on bootup and this doesn't really affect me.
Only thing I have is DeskScapes and I have a standalone installer (old version but works), so I don't really care =] Was just a passing observation...
I get tired of those sorts of replies. The whole point of the early betas is for developers to get on the bandwagon so that their product works by Windows' launch (along with beta testing for MS of course), thus helping to ensure previously happy customers don't jump to some competitor that do have their priorities straight. I can't imagine how much business Daemon Tools must have lost, for example. On top of that, given that the RC is now available, all fea
Interesingly: DeskScapes 2.0 works 100% even after a reboot on Windows 7 RC 64 bit. Well it's been a few days since it's been released and Orbit30 has worked his magic again. You'll need his PlusPatch 10 to install Dreamscene (manual file copying required for 64 bit), then without rebooting install Deskscapes 2.0. It told me it needed a reboot, but before that I tested (and activated) it which went fine as before - and even after a reboot .dre
It sure does, hell it also works 100% on Windows 7 64bit without any need for patches. I'd like to say this is a great piece of software, it's maybe not quite as feature complete as other dedicated wallpaper changers out there (the only feature I miss is more advanced scaling options for static wallpapers), but it comes damn close; and it's cheap. TMB is also very attentive and helpful in the unlikely event that you have any issues.
Oh. They've changed the ordering procedure since I bought it then. When I bought DeskScapes, I was given a direct link to a standalone installer package (which was for v2.0 of course). I guess now everything is moved to Impulse. I hate it when companies do that. Aaanyways, anything to report there Zubaz? It's been a while =]
Oooh, intrigue. I await with baited breath =]
Vista Home Basic does not support the Aero interface. The Aero interface is needed by Dreamscene/Deskscapes to render the video. Therefore you can not run Deskcapes on Vista Home Basic. ... Well, that was until 2.5 was released, which runs on Windows XP (which doesn't have Aero of course). Not being a programmer on the team I wouldn't know why it wouldn't use XP mode to render the vid, but at a rough guess I'd say poor OS detection routine (recog
Well, it kinda worked for me. On my setup, Deskscapes stops working after a reboot. If I install it again it works well, but after a reboot... it just complains that DWM/Aero is not switched on. Movie playback still works well though and benefits from the DeskScapes bug fixes.
EDIT : Small update down the bottom... I don't see this mentioned anywhere yet (I'm sure it was but now I can't find it) - for anyone having trouble with DeskScapes in Window 7 Build 7000 (most notably the 64 bit version) please visit the following link: http://board.iexbeta.com/index.php?showtopic=74361 Orbit30's recently updated his Dreamscene patch (64 bit compatible) and if you install DeskScapes v2.0
Cheers guys. I also know of 'Ovals' - nice little dynamic one (with 5 stars currently) in under 300k... I wish they'd hurry up and release the SDK because these are just brilliant. Anyone know of any others? Maybe we should start a list of them or something...
Howdy ho. As soon as I saw this program I just had to buy it. I have now wasted tonnes of bandwidth downloading some highly rated .dreams, but I can't keep this up for long before I kill off all my harddrive space... so I was wondering if it is at all possible to implement sort options for the DirectX or Movie based dreams... As Vista has rated my gfx card a 5.9 I definately have loads of spare 3D processing power going to waste while working and couple this with t
