If they do it as a FPS, and say, make it so you can pause and then jump into anyone in your squad, then it might be cool. If they limit it to controlling just one guy in a FPS futuristic world, it's gonna blow. Yet another case of them cashing in on a classic name to make another sh!tty FPS...

Great input into your upcoming plans, chief. I definitely like the idea of the AI using "mini-strategies". Such an example would be to cast a mass freezing spell that turns a group of targets into ice and then shattering them with a earthquake type spell. Little things like that, the AI using spell combos and planing for them and setting them up, would be a great step in the right direction for that I believe. Something I've noticed playing the base version of Elemental is that as

One of the advantages to making it a different game would probably be quite a few tweaks to the engine that wouldn't be possible/compatible in Elemental, at least that would be one of the logical reasons to the expansion being a separate g

I remember getting that huge thing and reading it like it was the bible and I was an ex junkie who just found Jesus. The game had a simple demo that let you learn the basic mechanics, and the book had strategies for each nation. Yes, Dom3 three is complex, but it also came with a great guide. Those of us who are loving Shogun 2 most likely enjoy real time battles just as much as we enjoy turn based empire building. You can always auto resolve but don't cheat yourself. Play the realtime battles and see how detailed they are. [/q

[quote who="onomastikon" reply="67" id="2914064"]Thank you for this post. May I ask a question? I have never played a TW series game before. I just read the review on GameSpot, it was the first time I have heard about this game, since I do not follow prerelease news about anything much, and have (mistakenly?) believed that the previous TW series were RTSs (which I do not like). Anyhow, when reading the review, I was shocked: the game seemed to be exactly everything I would have ima

They need to learn to make/release OS's slower. For the last few years of the 90's and early into 2000 it seemed like all MS was doing was putting a new number on the box, adding a couple bugs, and re-releasing last year's OS. The jump between XP and Vista was a total sh!t storm and MS knows it. Hell, when I built this system Win 7 wasn't out yet, Vista had been out for a few years ( and was still a P.O.S. ), and XP was getting old. Still, I picked up a fresh boxed copy

Preferably though, fixing the issue would be best.

That's a great update chief :). Forgive me if I'm wrong, but, the description above seems to fit in a lot with what was originally planned with Elemental doesn't it? If not what "was planned", then perhaps I should say what "was wanted"? I know we've covered these ideas before, especially city specialization, which I my-self made a post about a long time back. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's in the big Idea's List. :) Yeap, here it is: <span style="f

At the very least, make a co-op mode with all SP functionality, and how about having battles involving more than two sides? What about allies being able to join in battles with their team-mates? It would be fantastic if you could balance well, having 2 players vs 2 players in the one battlefield, for example. And this would fit a lot better with Elemental being
