I still feel like the only good thing about Windows 10 is DX12. Aside from that there's no reason I'd want to upgrade. I wish they'd put it out on Win 7. It makes you wonder if it's really "impossible" for DX 12 to run on Win 7 or if they're just saying it is and not putting it on Win 7 purposefully to keep it on Win 10 and make people switch over. It's one hell of a way to force people to switch over. Give it a few years and DX 12 will be the norm/requirement and if y

GameStop is always good for physical copies. They let you put money down and pay it off over time if you want as well so long as you're ready to pay it off when you come in to pick it up on release.

Being data-mined might as well be being monitored. The whole point of that though is something you own shouldn't even be Capable of monitoring you without your consent, and it most definitely is capable. If you don't think your being monitored you're being naïve. Hell I've caught my Wii U reporting back information packets even when I don't use it and it doesn't need a update. If I'm not using it for months at a time "what" information is it sending back? Did

Wow, that's some underhanded sneaky sht right there. Imagine the damage one rouge employee could do slipping in something like this to grab your credit card numbers. It's like a factory installed key-logger. If the little manufacturers can get away with it you know the bigger ones will start doing it too. I have a feeling this is only a disturbing sign of more of this kind of behavior coming soon from other companies as well.

Fascinating read, Doc. Have you seen this? http://qz.com/481164/ibm-has-built-a-digital-rat-brain-that-could-power-tomorrows-smartphones/ When you couple the leaps in programming with the new leaps in organic computing and quantum computing I do think we'll be seeing at least "weak AI" starting to approach human simulation (though probably not consciousne

I used to use Winamp all the time back when I played online shooters. For games like that I turn the game music off and would run my MP3's instead. I never used any of the new features so I stuck with a late 90's early 2000's version of Winamp. I haven't used it in years though. The few times I do feel like playing music in the background now I just use Media Player even though it's a bit more resource intensive then the old school Winamp. You do have me curious if my old

Plus, the majority of my ex's are psychotic so...yeah. LoL

Wish I would have know you liked boats, chief. Just last year or two ago a guy I know sold one of the boats from "Thunder in Paradise", Hulk Hogan's old TV show. It was a pretty sweet looking boat, plus a piece of TV history for a collector, and it really is fast as hell. If he gets in anything else that's cool I'll pass it along.

That was a great article, Elena, thanks :) One thing though, when you click on that link you still have to follow another link to get to the article over on arstechnica.com , at least I did anyway.

This isn't surprising. Did anyone read the ToS on Facebook's app for their phones? In the fine print you grant them access to your phones camera and speaker if you install their Facebook app so you can access FB just to send texts. Of course it says it's for collecting "consumer data", yeah...uh huh. I got something Zuckerberg can collect alright. Did you know the CIA publicly gave him an award? Gee, now why do you think they would do that? Hmm? Good One pointing this o

[quote who="happybjorn" reply="42" id="3568575"] Consoles have had patches and dlc for quite a while now, adding mods to that should be technically trivial. But that really does seem to be the issue RavenX. I suspect the data gathering would be more of a bonus on their giant rent farming (subscription of some kind required) content hub. Also, I'm surprised you bought into press speculation and twitter response from Bethesda. It sounds like Nati

Get it on sale though or cheaper on another site all together that sells Steam Keys (though make sure it's a legit site). My fault in it isn't with the game its-self, just the way it was handled and what they said they'd do compared to what they did.

Been pretty busy dealing with stuff and squeezing in some Arkham Knight the last few days but I'll get to more custom race pics soon. I thought Lord_Proteus did some Orcs already? Note: again with the karma thing...hmm. Something's odd. Did a system check and can't specifically find anything on my end. Updated flash-player (with the hotfix as well per their breech the other day). The only way it seems I can give anyone karma is to go to their profile page. Is something funky with the forums or should I keep digging on this end for a problem? Edit: Nope, I can't even give anyone karma on their profile. Tried just now, the box pops up, b
