Can you point out a few places where this happens and a few places where this doesn't happen? Maybe there's a correlation. Bara
Why would it only affect Stardock forums? Explain that one, I say!
It may be javascript, flash, the ads, or pretty much anything that goes beyond a regular HTML page. But considering no one else has brought up this issue, I'm hesitant to say that it's related to the forums and not your computer. :-/ Bara
Just joined to say that the "b" tag isn't actually deprecated. It can still be used and validates. Its use is "discouraged" and you should instead be using the "strong" tag or CSS... but yeah... not deprecated. Link to W3C page with more info: http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/present/graphics.html#h-15.2
It might not be deprecated, but its meaning will change come HTML5: http://stellify.net/html5-b-and-i-tags-are-goin
This seems to be more of an issue with your computer than the forums themselves. If you have the time, try uninstalling and re-installing Firefox, and possibly running an anti-virus and anti-spyware app to clean up your system. You never know when there's a rogue process going crazy on your system. Bara
There are plans to re-create our search so it is more accurate, does not rely on Google's search, and allows for advanced searching, but it is still a ways away. For now, I would follow what Mumblefratz said in relation to doing a site-specific search on Google. Bara

I agree. tags are bad. Very bad. But unfortunately fixing it is a very low-priority task. I'll see what I can do though. Bara

That is being looked into for a near-future update to the forums. Bara
I fixed the header links so they point to the right locations. We're looking into adding the dropdowns too. Bara
fixed it, thanks for pointing it out. Bara
Did you click on submit multiple times? Where exactly did you submit your comment (in the topic on the forums? In WC itself? New WC or old?)? As soon as I get some more information I'll look into it. And apologies for the delayed response :) Bara
Damnit, I thought I hid this post... Bara

Merry Christmas to you too :) Bara
I believe my next project will be an update of some kind to the forums. If that is the case, I finally have some time to look at this issue, and will be sure to fix it then. Until then, please be patient. We did also hire a new web dev (even though he's working primarily with marketing, he should lighten up the load all around). Bara

The problem looks like it's with IE7, not IE8. I'll fix it next change I get. Bara

Being I'm the resident pirate, all-round nice guy and a funny bastard to boot, I should be up around the 1000 mark by now. You need to open the My Account setting. You'll note on careful inspection (down near the bilge) that there's been a tiny hole drilled there. Not knowing better, I'd say some Pyrate buddy of yours has been sl
This may be before my time, but what comments section on the home page? We used to have a comment section (a guest book of sorts) on our personal pages. It was disabled following a rash of abusive messages left on people's pages by a disgruntled member. I'm not sure if they were going to be disabled anyway as the date stamps were all screwed up.
Ahh, I remember. Yea, I believe we were going to disable them anyways.&nbs
I don't like the way the karma system works, and will fix it soon. My primary complaint is that the karma differs per-site. When I update it, karma will be shared across all sites so you only have 1 karma count. I'll probably also change it so that the links will point to wherever the karma came from (eg: if I give you karma from the Demigod forums and you're viewing your profile from the ImpulseDriven forums, you'll see a link to the Demigod forums for that karma point).</p
Just updated the css for all of the sites. The profile should not be broken for any site now.
Haha, yes, it does sound like a dating service rating.
