Hi, having same problem Win 7 x64. I can force the icons to show by right clicking on desktop and clicking show desktop icons but they flicker and re-hide after a short time. A double click will only show empty fences. w00t! that worked great swampthing. I was getting so tired of looking at blank icons on my dock I actually went back to using the taskbar toolbar *shudder*. Thanks!
