At first, I’ll just be playing with people and I’ll have the Demigod. Other Stardockians will be playing as well this way. Then we’ll start adding the ne
Well, a mod that changes the favor items balancing would be a sim-side mod for example. Everyone's game needs to have this mod (otherwise the game would desynchronize). UI mods only change the way the user can interact with the game, but doesn't change any value of the simulation itself (or any blueprints etc.).
Sure, but it's a bit pointless. But as already mentioned, it has been known quite for a while now, that the Demigods will not be released with v1.2 directly. Only the DLC system will be implemented with that patch and after that, the Demigods will be released via Ready To Play for beta testing and after that for everyone. And the reason why has already been discussed in one or more other threads.
Err, what? What does this comment have to do with your topic and why do you want a Snickers.
btw. even if i would have noticed it a few games later (what was not the case!) it would still not explain why i had rank 3X000 at that time whle i saw plenty of palyers with <25% win ratio being active at tthat time still being hundreds of ranks above me. and like many here can assure you i usually play against high ranked palyers, thus it is not because i lose against noobs having such an exp loss.
Other players being "hundreds of ranks
Yeah, for Supreme Commander we had the Vault. But even with something as convenient as the Vault, sim side mods were never very popular (i.e. getting a game going with a sim side mod with random players online just like that was not possible). In the last half year or so mods like Phantom got a bit more popularity though. For simple mods, like a balance mod for favor items for example, it would be important to have some kind of automatic distribution system, otherwise no one will ever
Hello? Some1 there? Why not for every1 and fix and balancing later on? Everybody is waitin for them!!! Everybody expected them in 1.2.
No, the fact that they will be released to some RTP players for beta testing first and for the public later has been known for a while now.
mines not. neither my exp was reseted that day nor my ladder ranking changed. and i still remember an official post of favor points resetting around that time. the thread you showed does not disproove this. but anyway, it does not matter.
I think you simply do not remember correctly and you simply may have not noticed your exp change and after a few games you assumed it was never reset.
irek has a point. If we take Supreme Commander as a reference, sim side mods are very rarely used in online play. Some mods got more popular over time though and there is a good chance now to get a game going with them (e.g. the Phantom mod). This is because there is no automatic mod distribution system. UI only mods are used all the time though.
#2 The Mod Manager Players can make mods and share them with others. You can enable mods and if everyone else has those mods, voila they’re on like game options. If someone has mods enabled and a user doesn’t have it, they can’t join the game. This is for security purposes – these ARE mods afterall made potentially by third parties. We plan to get some mods out there as soon as possible so people can see what’s
again spooky, neiher my rank nor anything else got reseted for me. and most people told me (even an official statement i remember) that the favor points got reseted but not the favor items you already purchased.
No, only the experience got reset ;) http://forums.demigodthegame.com/364779
Yes, the problem is, that a loss will decrease your experience way too much sometimes (or a win will not give you enough experience). That's why it has to be tweaked. Other things like the Demigod or Map rankings are completely broken though. Regarding the stats reset: Favor points weren't reset (only the very first reset also reset the favor points). And as far as I looked back then, everyone had 1000 experience after the reset.
edit: oh btw. i have player rank arround 36000.... i looked at the stats of the players before me on the first two pages following me. all have worse stats than me and are still higher in rank. maybe the ladder designer and programmer should visit elementary school again. dunno.... OMG CelMare! i just checked your stats and you have ony 932 experience. WTF??? When the exp and rank reset happened 1 month ago, all
There are several reasons why lags could occur. Insufficient Upload Bandwidth and thus choking the connection every x seconds Generally unstable connections, caused by a number of things (packets delayed by hardware firewalls, routers, ISP, etc. or packets to one player simply take longer every x seconds) Other network related applications interfering (software firewalls, antivirus, and more) And of course a too high ping between at least 2 players
