Cool! For the increase in build times I was thinking of using the "Embargo" ability but just reversing it. Think that would work? Well you didn't miss any specific questions. There is a very long post above about how I want to design the mod. Your input on how it would work would be nice. I want to see what "gamers" think of the new battle system I want to design.

Ok, new idea. Would it be possible to create ship abilities that increase production of neutral nodes and planets? I'd like to create a "mining barge" or something to that effect that has three unique abilities, Increase build speed in gravity well, increase credit income (trade or taxes or both) and increase crystal + metal extraction. Is there a way to create passive or active abilities that could achieve this?

Yeah, it seems like they do that with every game now. GTA IV was bad like that. Every screen shot was up looking at Niko's face, or in the camera view. Who plays in Camera view all the time?! p.s. I've got questions for you in my "Ideas" thread! ahahh

I think there are a lot of misconceptions about Dragon Age. http://pc.ign.com/dor/objects/682217/dragon-age/images/dragon-age-origins-20080820104142047.html isometric views are definitely possible

Infinity is everything I wanted Eve to be so I just wanted to spread the word. It's an independent game with about 8 people on the team plus 100's of volunteer work. It's pretty slow going though because of funding and commitments. There is a single player version out right now that only focuses on combat. Kind of a beta test you might say. I wouldn't expect a full game release until late 2009, and that would probably be a beta haha. It looks real

Hey, Sins was made by Engineers and look how good it looks! The whole point in learning is to expand your creative skills! (I took this course for uni this sem, it was "exploring creativity". Seriously one of the coolest classes I've ever taken. Now I feel like a hippie though..."Dude, just let go and explore, explore you mind and your hidden talents. Just draw it how you see it, not how you think you see it.")

Now that this thread is done, can I hijack it? I was looking at some schematics and remembered back in the day when I used to autocad. Now I know neither of you are big moddelers, but do you know how well drawing the models in 2D would work? ie. I draw the top part in screen one, then draw the side, then the front and match it all together, then make the final touches on the 3D view.

After reading this I was going to ask if you're on 1.1 or not. Now I see you weren't even at 1.05! If you really want a more balanced game with more effective AI, get 1.11

I agree the TEC are econ based and should be building more ships to overwhelm an enemy. My gripe then is that the TEC should have the increase in fleet supply, not the Vasari.

Rise of Nations implemented your "bureaucracy" quite well. Each aditional unit cost more than the last in relation to how many were currently being fielded of that type. This, hands down, would be the best implementation to remove spam from the game. Research could then be done to lower this additional cost to give the same effect we have in the game now. I don't know if it would help to encourage more fleets though, but still a great idea to impl

CenturionnJixra, unfortunately I think you completely missed the point of this thread and the actual issue being discussed :(. "Doesn't it make sense that if more units are available on one side than the other that since they'll have more total firepower that they would wipe out the opposing fleet while suffering disproportionately fewer losses?" If you read the line below what you quoted, and even the line in which you quoted, I do acknowledge th
