Indeed Lord_Byte, WC3Banlist was a useful tool. I mainly used it because it made it easy for me as a host to keep track of problem players and keep them from ruining further games.

Hooray! This one made it so I can play :). So far have played two custom matches with no problems. Joined the lobby in a few seconds, game started fine, played to completion.
Good deed? I just got into the first game ever for me on Demigod thanks to this beta. If I had followed your advice I wouldn't have had that enjoyable experience.
JagerJack: agreed. Every game like this develops some shorthand while playing it. For example, in DotA you will commonly see the chat flooded with: b b b b b meaning back, or get back, because where you are isn't safe. At first I was like what the hell does b mean? and now I use it all the time. Pinging as well, it's saved me and others so many times, as well as being a quick way to say
This is excellent news, and while I'm not a full on IT guy, I know what a pain getting a simple LAN party working can be, so the fact you've done this much in this time frame is very impressive. I'm looking forward to getting to play! Even if it ends up having to be proxy servers (I have done all the firewall/port forwarding stuff, but you never know), playing is better than not. Watch out for the rapid tower spawning Rook, it's probably me :)
I think they're assuming you need to give a lot of information when you make an Impulse account, and from what I remember of the process, it was user id, password, email, done.
His frost form is great for supporting a team mate, since you're slowing/stunning and can interrupt spells.
Looking forward to the public beta version, and I'll gladly help test it. Currently I still have yet to get into a game via the built in options, so hopefully it will solve my problems.
Ryan, I have noticed earning gold from killing mobs. Maybe you weren't close enough for it to count just barely? According to the manual you have to be within a certain distance of them when they die to earn the money. A good test would to take Torchbearer or Rook at level 1, go into the middle of some mobs, and nuke them down. Watch your gold, and if it jumps by 50-100 or so, then it's working as intended I think.
Fixmyfavor, while that would be nice, I think connectivity is more important, since I can't even get to the favor point problem currently since I can't play on Skirmish, Custom Games, or Pantheon. After that I think favor points and such being updated properly should be the next big goal. Because really, what would you rather have a game developer fix? Being able to play online, or for something related to online games to work as intended?
As much as I'd like to keep track of my opponent's level and damage, I'm not asian.
Because we all know that determines that kind of thing. Snarking aside, it would be nice to be able to see that, or at least see what level of Acid Spit it is. Easy way to kind of tel though is if they are level 1/4/7/10, Acid Spit will be level 1-2-3-4 respectively most likely, unless they are maxing other skills fi
Rhah, for Capture Lock, it's a consumable you can buy and use on a flag to prevent it from being capturable for 45 seconds. Really useful when you manage to grab an enemy's portal flag :)
Reminds me of playing scrims and clan matches in DotA, along with playing in some of the leagues. While the game itself doesn't have a built in vote for concession model, they tend to have rules on forfeiting, with 3 out of 5 votes to ff is conceding and counts as a win for the other team. Sometimes it's possible to come back from a bad start in a game, but other times it can be pretty obvious that you're just screwed. I myself tend to stay till the end, since I think I lear
I'm in favor of number 1 and number 3, with number 2 being on hold since I can't easily mentally picture it. As for Rook's size being a weakness, I view it as an advantage. I'm Rook, I'm here, the party's started, and you better watch out :)
That sounds pretty sweet, and I'd totally play it.
I would love to keep getting status reports like this. One of my favorite things about DotA lately is that the main guy behind it, Icefrog, has a blog about the development of the game that he posts to periodically, and you can leave comments to him about it. I think it's a great idea, and builds a deeper connection between the developer and the user base. It builds loyalty, and feeling goodness, and all that fun stuff :). I think the thing I'd like to
Great video, it was nice to see. I especially liked the "NERF REGULUS OMG" part :). Reminds me a lot of DotA in that every hero at somepoint is labeled imba or OP, when usually they are pretty well balanced. I remember in my first online game of DotA I got absolutely trounced by Juggernaut, and then when I tried to go do the same I got destroyed. A lot of it comes down to skill and practice, and knowing what your opponents are capable of. Looking
Thanks for keeping us updated so much, I really appreciate being one of the few U.S. players that hasn't been able to play via the game's built in online play. Going to go and try again and see if it's any different with the new patch, but since the proxies aren't up my hopes aren't super high. Edit: Partial success! I managed to connect to everyone in a Pantheon game, but once it started everyone was replaced with A.I. opponents. This is
OT for a sec, Netstorm! I loved that game. Such an original concept. I'm for favor items, they don't feel OP to me yet. It's an extra level of customization for a hero. Since when you buy one it buys it for all Demigods, I don't think the prices are unreasonable. I've mainly used the +800 health/5 hp regen one since I'm still picking up how to play, and the extra health and regen at the start is a nice buffer. Kind of like getting Bra
Blast, it's at a time where I can't play, otherwise I'd participate. Good luck to everyone!
From my experiences so far they're pretty balanced. A good Queen of Thorns can do a ridiculous amount of damage mitigation, and she can clear out an army in seconds. Lord Erebus is very mobile, and has good crowd control with his Mass Charm. He also can become quite a demigod killer with Bat Swarm and Vampire Bite. I haven't played much of Oak or Sedna yet, but from what I've seen playing with/against them, they can also be quite powerful. That s
Good to hear, I'm one of those 5% in the U.S. who hasn't managed to get an online game working, be it skirmish, custom game, or pantheon. However, I finally got to play a game via Hamachi last night, and it was one of the most epic gaming experiences I've ever had, and this is coming from a 5 year DotA player, so I've got high expectations for this genre of gameplay :). Being a high level Rook is awesome! Rolling a boulder through tons of minions and seeing them all go flyin
