Want to add my thanks here as well. Just played for about an hour, and this is what I was hoping Elemental would be back in 2010. Having so much fun with my squad of heroes and monsters exploring around, while building up cities behind them :).

Rath, in Red Alert theres a toggle in one of the .ini files labeled "AI Paranoid" that is default switched to on. When it's on, the AI's all ally against you around the 5 minute mark. If you turn it off, the FFA's really were FFA, made it much more fun. My favorite AI so far is the one from AI War. It manages to do the darndest things.

This sounds similar to how some Diablo 2 modding would work, where running Diablo 2 with -direct -txt would load all the txt files and convert them into bins. It seemed to work very well from what I remember of tooling around with it.

" As someone who has gone to bed reading various Civilization manuals over the years (and who can forget Ultima IV!?) the CE version really does make the case IMO as to why it’s good to give customers more than merely a piece of digital media." I remember, as a child, sitting down to read the 100+ page manual to the NES version of Ultima IV, and loving every minute of it. They even had a section in there talking about secret passageways and showing you

Any idea when the cutoff date for pre-orders will be? The limited edition sounds awesome, but I'm short the moneys at the moment. If I have an idea of when the cutoff is I can probably budget it in/find some freelance work to cover it.

The DotA community can be pretty bad at times, but for the most part in my experience that's been a vocal minority. And of course people are going to compare DotA and Demigod, they're both AoS style games. It's like people comparing UT and Half-life or any other FPS. That said, to the OP: If they were money grubbing I don't think they'd have worked 108 hours in a week trying to fix things. Frogboy has done the most impressive job I've ever seen w

QoT is great. Not 1v1, but in a team she's amazing. Her shields do excellent damage prevention allowing tower diving to chase someone down, and her two area of effect nukes have some nice secondary effects to them. Uproot is amazing, I don't know why everyone dislikes it when it can easily do over 3000 damage a casting on a building. Her minions are pretty good at helping clear giant waves of units with their attacks, and if things get drastic she can sacrifice one for

If it was a design flaw, I'm sure they would have caught it by now. I think I remember reading the lead designer on the game talk about this coming up, and them deciding this way opened up more options and play styles. Personally I prefer it this way. C'mon, admit it, you want to play a Rook with the two speed boots, the speed cloak, a wand of speed, and the swift anklet favor item. And if you don't, then you haven't tried it yet :)

I've always liked the way DotA has done it, where the higher level you are the longer it takes for you to revive. At level one it's around 4 seconds or so, but by the end of the game it can take over a minute before you come back if you've hit max level.

If I feel I need a warp on someone I tend to go for the elven cloak instead. Sure it's pricey, but instant warp and the movespeed and evade are nice. Warpstone's casting time prevents me from wanting to get it on most characters, as the only character that I feel really needs a warp is Erebus, who already gets one as an ability. I could see some nice uses of it with TB or QoT depending on what abilities they are speccing, though, hmm.. I'll have to give it a try on TB tonigh

It's the DotA dilemma, it tends to be easier to buff your attack than your defense when it comes to items.

Random elements in a rts fall apart. Anyone play 7th legion? Was an rts with a card system that just fell apart after 6 minutes into the game.

Meikkis: I like DotA because it's fun for me. I also like Demigod because it's fun for me, and I have high hopes for it since it's a DotA style game that my friends might be willing to play with me due to it having an easier learning curve (imo, and that's a good thing) and it being a heck of a lot prettier. Plus, you can play as a walking castle! That's just pretty damn sweet. I think bashing either is pretty dumb, as it doesn't accomplish anything. &

Sydaemon: Wouldn't a demigod that functioned along the odd lines of Phantom Lancer, Templar Assassin, or Undying be awesome to see? I for one would love something like Earthshaker, since him and a blink dagger is my favorite hero in DotA. Nothing quite like blink -> echo slam -> fissure -> enchant totem -> refresher orb ->echo slam :) Edit: Edited to reply to Aroddo's question about unusual heroes in DotA. Th

I wish there were replays working so you could show us in action what you're describing. I think I get what you're saying, but much easier to see than to read. Are you on pretty often? I'd like to play a game with you and see how this strategy works.

You definitely want to know what each hero can do at each level, it can easily turn a death into a kill or an escape if you can know in advance that TB's fireball is going to do 1050 at 10, instead of just knowing it hits for a lot. It's even more important to know when it comes to chaining disables and such, so you can activate them at the right time instead of wasting potential stun time or giving your opponent a chance to respond. Thankfully, you're playing Dem

With the .77 update today I'm now able to play Pantheon games for the first time. Hooray! Played one so far, and while I was paired up with an A.I. against two people, I still managed to win :). Looking forward to playing more.
