Well, I should say that I don't think the creeps are too weak, but I'm not sure about the general-controlled units. IMO, they do seem to die too quickly if their play style is suppose to be more of a WCIII RTS feel. I haven't played as a general too much, but right now at least the non-general specific units feel a little too much like throw-away trash. Also, I really don't think they were going for SoaSE length games here...

Haha, I didn't notice the monster below the floor either... But I agree with the others. Prison is suppose to be a chaotic skirmish map, a relief from the tighter, cleaner maps.
I don't know if it's so much a problem that creeps are worthless as it is more of a problem that towers are doing too much damage...
They did say that this Beta was not balanced.
Yes, and this is why they need our feedback to let them know what needs to be balanced. Basically, I think that Regulus has too much oomph in his auto-attack but should have his Snipe scale properly. That way he isn't just a stat-stomper at the end game but requires strategy using Snipe to be effective at taking down enemy demigods.
Maybe I'm wrong since I'm new, but overall I feel like Regulus is actually a bit too powerful, even though Snipe scales so poorly. That is to say that some aspects of him are under powered (like Snipe), some over powered (his stats are a bit too good), but things balance too much in his favor. Am I wrong about this?
Trigeminal, Je t'aime. Now I am new to the Demigod community... btw I'm Scyld Scefing, King of the Geats; ignore my mispelled and oddly capitalized username... Anywho, might I be so bold as to ask what Trigeminal's relationship with Demigod and Gas Powered Games is? In some posts, he seems like a member of the company, but in other posts he seems like a member of the community. Are you like a "super beta tester" or something, or are you just a guy who's in the kn
That's right. I'm sure your zealousness is appreciated, but there is going to be another build released later today that will address a lot of the bugs users will run into. Until then at the very least, the devs have requested only reports on balance issues.
Yes, if there aren't any last minute snafus. Last minute snafus will happen sometimes with things like this.
You'd have to be a proffessional to make maps as good as the ones we've seen so far.
Not that I've actually seen the maps yet or anything, but generally speaking if the community for a game is big enough, there is usually a relatively small part of the user base that are able to make very good maps as well as willing to devote the time to making them.

Yay Stardock, the little company that could!! Please don't turn evil! At least not yet... Oh, and I have to add that I'm disappointed that Spore made the list. It was simply too flawed in its execution, and its development was unfocused.
Who knows where the term comes from? But anyways, it's just the general term for any non-aligned creature in these sorts of games. I believe, however, that if they are not aggressive and otherwise not important to the game but are just there for atmosphere, they are usually termed "critters"... I think that term comes from WC II.
As one who never played Demigod, I'm definitely leaning towards an assasin to start with. Even though Rook looks awesome, I always tend to play a caster, so I'm hopping on the bandwagon and pitching my vote for Torchbearer.
This is awsome, I can't wait for Thursday, this game just keeps getting better and better all the time.
So then I take it that Beta 2 is scheduled for release on Thursday? Yay! Though a Wednesday release would be even better for me... [e digicons]:pout:[/e]
