The discussion about fleet supply has been raging since the beta of the game, back in 2007. You aren't going to win this argument, trust me.
This may be true, but with big "fleet destroyers" like MB and the big red button, pji's and gravity warheads, disorientation and meteor storm, its too easy to get stuck with no fleet and a crappy income. I'd like some sort of option, maybe not downgrading fleet supply per se, but something to make you a little less completley scre

To take out those Vasari starbases: Try lots and lots of bombers, run your carriers around the well while the bombers do all the work. The other option is to use your ships to "pin" the starbase by surrounding it, while your bombers and starfish pummel it. The first option will yield the best results. For your defenses: Don't spend too much on static defenses. Repair bays being the exception (you can't have too many). TO truly be effective try setting up a few static d

I agree with Darvin, it's much easier to defend your fleet with Push than with flak burst. Flak burst is the most effective when the battle is just beginning and the enemy strikecraft are bunched together traveling across the well. After they scatter it becomes much less effective due to its limited range, especially if your opponent is not focus firing on anything in particular. Flak burst is great at protecting your cap ships from bomber attack, but fighters and flak frigs will give you bet

Switching from HCs to carriers is not impractical, and fighters are the best defense against bombers, and will be more effective for the money than building light frigates and flaks. What you should do is keep up with what your opponent is building, especially if you're fleet is unbalanced. He starts pumping out carriers with bombers than you start pumping out fighters, and of course try and stop the production of those bomber carriers (destroy labs, factories, planet etc.). You got your ass

We may start to see a re-emergence of bombers as the dominant strikecraft with the new nerf, and I think that's what they are wanting at IC as well as having carriers offer up more of a support role. I think people will start building more bombers to stand up to the flak, which will hopefully prompt more fighters in defense. The other, more likely thing to happen, is for people to stop using carriers all together, in which case IC will have to buff them probably by cutting back on the price.<

Here's an interesting one: Quick Start/ large fleet sizes- Start off build 1 sova, 1 colonizer & 1 military lab. Sell 200 metal and buy 100 crystal. Research Cap Ship fleet logistics upgrade. Send Sova & colony to colonize nearest asteroid. Purchase sova #2. Sink point in both sovas in embargo. Upgrade asteroid logistics and build extractors. Send sovas to nearest enemy HW (3-4 jumps MAX)set one to autocast and the other leave autocast off. When they jump in the well,

Traps are good and ou can do some serious damage to those who fall into them, Phase Jump Inhibitors and Orkuli make the best traps, and if you've got Distortion field, Gravity warheads or gravity mines you can keep an enemy fleet from escaping until all of them are dead, which means your opponent just lost a ton of ships. I wouldn't rely on this tactic solely though. I'm not the greatest at balancing econ and military with Vasari. If you see a fellow named rubeeisdabomb, try a

What if we removed the build penalty while the fighters/bombers were docked? That way they' be removing their air presence in the well for a shorter reproduction time, and allow the squadrons to fill. Does that seem like a good trade-off? Could add an interesting micro management aspect.
Am I doing the right thing by fleeing?
You're doing the right thing by listening to your team. At the state you are now that was likely the right thing to do. When you come across this in the future (and you will) try and also think of things that will slow your opponents down. Upgrade the health on your HW so it takes longer for your enemies to destroy it, you may also try building a starbase at your HW. That's guaranteed to slow them down. Don't be afraid to ask your

Welcome to MP. If you run a search on the forums I'm sure you'll find several posts with early game Vasari strategies, most of them pretty in depth, but I'll give you a couple of general tips. 1) Use your vasari scouts to quickly grab neutral extractors very early in the game. 2) Figure out what kind of strategy your nearest opponent is setting up by scouting his planets frequently, this way its much harder for him to catch you off guard. 3) Save and watch the

I'm going to avoid making this another mile long debate over MB, but I personally do not think its overpowered. I've seen it overcome with striking results too many times (my own MB with a superior fleet got beat by 40+ hoshis last night, MB'd the little bastards 3 times before giving up and retreating). Just wanted to state the opposing opinion that MB is fine the way it is.

Entrenchment v1.02
Maybe dropping the number of command points by 1 would make them more acceptable.
I don't think supply is entirely the issue. The issue is application. Since the penalty on carriers, flak have become weapon of choice against them, leaving LF with no real application early game, and allowing LRF more power as they become the destroyers of the carriers themselves. A fleet of carriers and light frigates should be a match for a fleet of LRMs and f

A Transencia once tried to disorient Chuck Norris, it was a bad idea, he flew out of control while doing a roundhouse kick and destroyed the entire star system on accident. The first wormholes was created when Chuck Norris kicked a hole in space time. Chuck Norris made a SINS Mod once. None who've played it lived to tell about it.

Well to be honest they're kind of even, remember the races are balanced. A Vasari player also wouldn't normally try and take down another Vas SB with their own. He'd take it down with bombers most likely. But for the others, bring on the Orkulus. With some fighter cover, and the fast build upgrades researched one can put up an Orkulus pretty damn fast. Coupled with the Skirantras repair cloud, debris vortex and frontal shield. That thing will last WAY longer than any Assault Cruiser. Assault

Also, if you tell the starfish to attack a target, it fires from as far away as possible, allowing only 1 or 2 banks to fire at once. Move it closer to a group of structures to get more banks firing and more damage be dealt to that defensive cluster. Starfish aren't the greatest assault weapon against starbases, but they'll do the trick, and they're great for clearing any cluster of structures.
i personally dont line this tactic, its too slow for my liking, but thats just me, and i dont play Vasari anyway
The nice part is that vasari starbase fully upgraded can take down any other fully upgraded starbase, and even deal with a decent sized enemy fleet at the same time. It takes a bit more time yes, and money, but those things are BEASTS, especially with frontal shield and debris vortex.
