i believe the devs are thinking of making the current normal speed the 'slow' speed, the current fast speed the 'normal' speed, and make a new speed for fast unless you mean like a way to artificially speeding up MP games like you can do in Entrenchment SP, in which case i think the syncing would be the biggest (and most likely and insurpassable) obstacle

the ninjas do try to cut off your head, but dont quite make it (blunt blade) you die instantly, on a cause of your spine being severed, but you dont quite get decapitated... hence you dont get to going the Harry Potter Headless Hunt, terribly sorry old chap I wish i had my own customised Daedalus Battlecruiser (ala Star Gate) with highly advanced weapons, shields and utilities (i.e. transporters, Mark IX Naquadria enhanced nuclear warheads, food replicators etc etc)
EDIT\\ Rezonator, you are getting a massage, and as you get up to leave she offers you a "Happy Ending" to go w/ your massage. You kindly tell her no, but she insists, this time sounding a little crazy. You start to walk out, but she pursues you out into the street, shouting for you. As you run, naked, looking for help, you find a police officer. You run to him, pleading for help, but the crazy massage girls snaps his neck. Eventually, you get to the subway, and subsequently fall down

I always thought all three would ally against the unknown enemy... personally, i think the Vasari are idiots for killing people instead of making a new space empire and building an even BIGGER fleet to attack whatever is chasing the vasari. i mean, between Advent shields weapons and psychic attacks, TEC econ and brute numbers, and advanced Vasari tech, im sure they could have come up with something. but no, they prefer to be pretentious pricks =P out of the three of them,

damn, missed, oh well, you become better, but then Ironclad releases a totally crap expansion pack and everyone stops playing and you find yourself alone playing a crappy and broken game against AI that just want to hug you and sing songs you get you AT-AT but Richard Simmons flies in on an Air Speeder (whatever its called) and trips it up before you can step on anyone I wish i was getting a really good massage from some (female) hottie right now

could be a simpe thing to reduce the strain on the processors etc. it may not be situational (i.e. even if you comuter CAN handle it, it will still drop the effect)
Just like Rome got destroyed by barbarians, tech isn't everything. It sure helps though.
Rome had also been around for ages and had become fat, complacent and corrupt. While the Barbarians were numerous and bloodthirsty If the Barbarians had attacked Rome around the time of the move Gladiator (as in, the time it was set) then the Barbarians would have been slaughtered. I dont think the Romulans would have been wiped out by humans who dont even have stars

well... all the assumptions you make are fair... but i dont see how anyone can extrapolate further, as there really isnt alot to go on really, i think you've summed it up with your conclusions right there... on a side note, saracen16, i was just thinking, if whatever is chasing the Vasari is of their own creation, why would they keep using it? So, you said Nano-tech became sentient and started killing them off? so why would they continue to use it at the risk of the same thing

to add to Moosters comments, there is a book by a respected Science Fiction write called Heinlien who wrote a book called Footfall. In that book aliens came and invaded earth yada yada you know the story, important thing is when the Americans wanted to counter attack, or even wanted intelligence, they grabbed a bunch of Sci-Fi writers and put them into a thinktank Now, i know thats a story, and not real, but then what do you think a Thinktank is? Also, the US Gov didnt
if your going to make a claim you have to back it up by at least 3 facts.
look, i have to stop you here, first off, there are no facts. IC has told us nothing. If by facts you mean facts like saracen16 has stated above, then sure, but if you mean officially sanctioned, released by Ironclad lore facts, then im sorry you are going to be disappointed. As it stands, the only info we have is what we know from A) the website, B.) the opening cinematic of Vanilla Sins,

i was playing a mod once (Star Wars Requiem to be specific) they modded it so the Empire was like TEC, but they had an Advent Starbase, and it could move... it moved like a brain damaged horse... but it moved... on topic now... i dont think Starbases move... honetly... i just played a game and had a look specifically... no move button... though when sped up i did see it shuffle a tiny bit back and forth but i attributed that to an effect to make it look realistic rather than stationar

i agree, there are about 3-4 fan stories on the front page now, and, no offense to the people who write them, (i really respect them for taking the time and effort and having the creativity to do it), but i cant bring myself to read those stories because i want to know the official stuff, not 'guesses' as you aptly named them. that said , Sins as it is today is really a skirmish game and not a campaign so expanding on lore atm seems a bit pointless... especially since IC has no way to

i think the Enterprise could... i mean, 1) the Death Star the Rebels destroyed was incomplete and unshielded, so, given that we agree Star Wars weapons are ineffective vs Federation technology, the Enterprise could simply sit outside and shoot at stuff until they hit something important, and 2) aside from that simple strategy, they could also beam a torpedo onto the Death Star (probably into the reactor itself or maybe somewhere in the Power Relays for secondaries... long story short,
The Vulcans declare war on Earth and humanity enters a desperate long war for it's survival.
you know, i saw a weird episode of Star Trek: Enterprise the other day, i think it was called In a Mirror, Darkly in the episode, we were looking at an alternate universe where Zefram Cochram (the guy who developed the first human warp technology) murdered the Vulcan crew instead of making peace with them. then, 20 years or whatever later, the

so make it that the kostura cannon effects dont apply to allies? (i.e. the temp phase stabiliser) for that matter, i dont know if the deliverance engine culture bonuses affect allies either. if they do, there is precedent, so why doesnt kostura, and if not well, maybe it should be looked at besides, as it stands, if you do have a 3 way team like that, you can use a novalith (or two) to nuke a planet so the enemy cant control it, then use a deliverance engine (or two) to give f
