Ahhh another great post with the good and the bad and the ugly without being ugly about it. ;)) +1 Karma for you

Good thing I never read IGN or Gamespy so they didn't make any promises to me they didn't keep. ;))
I don't mind negative posts just keep them to ONE thread don't make a 100 of them all saying the same damn thing. It just clutters up all the GOOD ones that I'd rather read than crybabies boohooing QQing same ole replies and remarks.
Master of Magic did the same things sometimes. I found an ai opponent who was on one piece of terrain and blocked by an impassable mountain. I don't have a problem with that if it happens to me I just start a new game. I've been put on islands in CIV that I could only get 3 settlers down and did ok in the game. Even if they allowed the maps to spen by 90 degrees that would add some replayability of the same maps. That's what Matrixgames did with Panzer Command:Kharkov. I think
Gamers aren't people though.....haha
Removing all the negative threads and leaving only the flowery ones would do more harm than good, most people aren't that stupid [e digicons]:P[/e]
Plus Paradox moderators and even King and Johan do it all the time. They actually just delete them and ban all the naysayers. Works for them looks like. :))
I think (constructive) criticism is more useful for the devs than praises. Actually a good dose of both help. That way the features you like can be enhanced as well. Besides, the developers worked hard on this work and would like to hear you are enjoying the game as well.
Damn straight you tell em Zargon. I really think what you should do is move all the negative threads

If this game can be completed in 12 hours then it doesn't have much meat to it especially on a LARGE map as he described. I expected to be playing out my first game for at least 4 days and that's at least 10 hours a day since I'm off. Did the ai even play? What about all those tactical battles? If
quoting post Hi all Long time lurkey 1st time poster Im at work but i have had the email and i look forward to getting home and trying the game. I have watched everyone in the last few months praising Frog Boy and Stardock for their excellent way of doing things, their focus and their games. Praise i believe is deserved. Stardock are quite probably one of the best companie
You're over reacting the game UI is fine. But, it's going to have bugs and stuff that's to be expected if you didn't expect them then you're a moron. You also can desire TONS of things but I doubt you will get them all without modding the game yourself. It's made to sell to a wide audience not just one individual.
Ahhhh it's refreshing to read a real constructive praise and critique about the game at the same time instead of a "this game suks because ......" Great post ashampine. ;))
I'm having trouble with my LOAD GAMES from within the game. I have a lot of save spots so as not to lose it all if I lose one. But, when I do go back to LOAD a saved game it CTD's. I then restart the game and it WILL LOAD but after having to go through CTD's each time.
I don't care if he was playing on the toiletbox mode 12 hours? I've played MOM and AOW for DAYS. If he did it in 12 hours he sure did a lot of end turn end turn end turn playing then instead of checkin
Well it doesn't ruin the fun for me as to me it makes it more like a chesslike game instead of he who gets there with the mostest firstest. A Queen piece should act like a Queen piece on all sides. Same with a rook or a knight or pawn or bishop. Remember their differences are in how you build their attributes and optimum building will be key in MP games I'm sure. High INT and Hit Points and Probably STR.
That brings up another point about shards they should be protected by strong beasts in the early game so they aren't so easy to get or at least by difficulty level of the game like MOM did it. Remember the mana pools in MOM? All of them had something protecting them and you had to fight to get them not just walk on them and press a button and wallah they are yours.
A whole game finished in 12 hours first day? I think I'm gonna call bs on this one and that AAR is from some beta build you played earlier. You would have to know every feature, nook and cranny to be able to do something like that an even then I would highly doubt it. I used to put 72 hours into Civilization to finish it.
Id like to see the spell list from Dominions III added. But, I could be happy with MOM's too.
I generally prefer it when such polish is done *before* the release of a game
When you buy new shoes do you generally polish them before you buy them or after you buy them and wear them awhile?
Well just compare it to HOI III and it would be easy to see this game is GRRRRRRRRREAAAAAT comparte to it. ;))
I'd rather support Stardock than try to get something on the cheap from them.
Yeah all games the magic is more powerful in the beginning but later on it takes both to be successful. Even playing MOM I remember wanting Sky Drakes and Paladins a lot more than I wanted some spell although Power Drain or Drain Life were some pretty powerful spells in the later portion of the game but so was Counter Magic that could stop them all.
It's better if you just ask questions as you go nobody is going to want to give you step by step instructions. Just piddle around with it as you don't have to be an expert your first game. I always start off with what I call a test game and I do everything and anything to find out how the game plays especially if I don't have a manual.

I have to agree here we HAVE TO HAVE RANDOM MAPS. I don't like downloading strangers maps in fact I won't. I only trust official sites and offical maps or random generated maps. This is one of those options and fixes that must be implemented and soon. This is the kind of crap Triumph Studios did when they made Age of Wonders. No random maps or anything in the first game and then finally putting them in the last version AOW:SM. If it doesn't have random I don't usually buy it and I did buy thi

Perhaps it would
