and worth playing?
It's worth playing now, please take your trolling ways to another forum thanks. Edit: For the love of goodness Stardock et al why do you let these trolls continue to flood this forum with their obvious trolling posts to just in yer face you now? Ban them or move them please as I'd rather read the posts of those enjoying the game and what they are finding and yes even ideas for added enjoyment but not tearing the game down in ever
So the PCgamer guy has been playing on two PCs and had issues ever 10 minutes or so. I played 1.01 on two different PCs for a couple hours on each and didn't have any issues (both OC'ed Core i7's, one with ATI card, one with Nvidia card). Sounds like a personal problem to me.
I'm playing on pretty much the same with an ATI 5770 card so I should be havi
Anyone who reads professional reviews and expects to get an accurate review is a retard. You read the actual game forums and you read what the players/gamers are saying on the official and non-official forums. Review companies like PC Gamer are paid to do the jobs they do. They purposely give good reviews to bad games, and bad reviews to good games to keep their advertisers happy. That said, plenty of unhappy people on these
Quoting rossanderson48, reply 50 Quoting niteshade6, It's the small developer that gets the flying fickly finger of screwing in the review world. The Majors get a golden ticket pass like they were going to the Willy Wonka Factory. I have to vehemently disagree on that. I have played ETW, CIV series and a LOT of other AAA games from those studios. There have been stinkers
My biggest problem with the article is the quote he took out of context. Qt3 isn't just some random site. It's my home away from home. And Ben Sones isn't some random forum poster, he's a friend of mine (FB friend and all) and when he called v1.0 an "early beta" I admit, it ticked me off and I snapped back. I shouldn't have said it and I regret saying it, but for PC Gamer to take that comment without any context and put it out there is c
For me, the game has been very stable and low on bugs and I've been having a lot of fun exploring the game world, the tech tree and the other features of the game over the last couple nights.
Same here I just can't see what the trolls are saying is wrong with this game. I'm going on my 3rd day of fun an enjoyment. This is a fantastic game and it's right up there to MOM to me now. I will definitely play it a lot. Not many games keep me interested even this long
Quoting Mtn_Man, reply 38 Quoting SapSnark, reply 29 It does seem that there is a definite bias from the gaming "press." There does seem to be a double standard where big-name releases from major publishers are given a pass for similar things that Stardock is getting slammed for. I think part of that might be due to the same reason that Best Buy broke the release da
I think this article at PCGamer is a little slanderous and overtly malicious. Gratefully the problems he complains about I don't even experience myself. And I have usually been a skeptic here. Articles like this one are only designed to hurt and not help. The article is disguised to help buyers by steering people away through blown out of proportion accusations and statements. I believe the game needs work but not on par with the writers complaints. I don't believe its a
So there I was saving my game to see if it was going to hold my options in this time. (It had been resetting them before the patch). But, low and behold when I reloaded the saved game I had 3 new resources popup where they weren't before. They were Shard resources at that, Fire, Air and Water. I haven't even researched shard tech yet either. Neat that one was right next to my colony. :)) Just letting you know Brad I'm certainly not one of those complainers like the rest of them. :))
The only valid point I see here is about the lack of real armies. This is going to plague this game forever, I think. The "armies" feel too much like DnD parties. No group of 3-4 people should ever be taking over an entire kingdom.
Obviously you never played the "Champions of Krynn" saga. They did exactly that conquering much of the Dark Queens forces and capturing the Queen
Kohan II has an excellent map generator. It has sliders for every terrain (excluding grassland) in the game and you can have lots or little of each. Of course the less you have of each the more grassland you willl end up with. It also has sliders for the amount of relics and npcs and goody huts you want. Quite a good map generator imho.
My game is still running fine. Still only one crash to date and no memory leaks or graphics lag or any of that stuff. Guess my i7 920 overclocked to 3.2ghz and 6gb 1600 latency 8 ram and ati 5770 1gb dedicated ram are best in the world for playing this game without issues. :)) This game is just too much fun to complain about nitpicky things. BTW I got my rig from IBUYPOWER they make the best systems nowadays and don't try to rip you off.
That's what made me think it wasn't finished too Avatar1983. It seems like a good game, but if that's the entire campaign that's very disappointing.
Disappointing? Master of Magic didn't even have a campaign and it's the #1 fantasy strategy game of them all. So quit complaining and get down to playing the real campaign of the game the Sandbox game on epic level huge map and maximum ai opponents. Then when you beat that in 8 hou
Quoting Heavenfall, reply 4 I can understand that you don't want crap on your forums, but I'm not sure deleting posts is the way to go. Generally, people don't like seeing their efforts go to waste, and if they can't be vocal here, they'll be vocal somewhere else. And there will always be people caught in the cross-fire. Maybe adding a "whine" forum subsection is an idea? I'm okay with them be
I am using Vista 64x and was able to play for several hours without a crash. That includes tactical battles. I did experience considerable slowdown after two hours, though. My CPU usage was pretty low. Perhaps it was a memory leak.
Same here and I've only had 1 crash so far and that was trying to reload a saved game and no sticks or graphic issues either.
Nice review clockwerk. Very informative without being trollish.
Quoting rossanderson48, reply 29 I don't mind negative posts just keep them to ONE thread don't make a 100 of them all saying the same damn thing. It just clutters up all the GOOD ones that I'd rather read than crybabies boohooing QQing same ole replies and remarks. The threads on here "QQing" and "Whining" are actually mostly clear, constructive requests for bug fixes, ui mistakes, etc. This is&n

You have to click on campaigns to get to the campaign save files.
This game is so much fun you should play it if you have it. Sure it's going to have some niggles but the experience getting there is half the fun. Combat is kewl and the ai is acceptable so far and I'm still on normal difficulty. Try not to read too much into the naysayers they always over react and blow things up bigger than they really are over just the little things. Trust me I'm one of the worlds worst when a game doesn't play like I thought it would. But, I give great credit to Stardock
The question is how long are people going to continue to subsidize this kind of release. You know, fool me once... fool me twice and I'll stop preordering?
It will never stop really. If we had a static population of game consumers then it might. But, as long as there is an influx of NEW gamers (which there are every single day) then they don't have to worry about old customers because there are new ones to replace you. Plus as long as the trend continues to FIX an
