As far as I'm concerned the recent upgrade is inadequate. The pirates are still too powerful even at the start of the game. I was able to defend off the first attack but before I could finish it a second wave had attacked. Hull and weapon strength is still too high for less than twenty minutes into the game. They were stronger than my level 3 Kol at this phase of the game. Pretty much wasted my money buying this upgrade. Until the pirates are nerfed back
