1. AFAIK the tiles that were set to upgrade before Xeno Ethics has been researched will stay like they are. Only when you colonize a new planet then the tiles where the correct terraform-tech has been researched is upgraded instantly. Solution: Built the Orbital Terraformer-wonder

My military score has gone up as much as thirty points sometimes. BTW, in my experience AIs will not give you planets for peace unless they are extremely outmatched or you're about to conquer the planet anyway.
If you have a good ratio of

Well, actually this is really hard to predict from map to map, but there are some things you could do to baffle/dodge their SA or the consequences that arise out of their SA. First, try to get a good relationship to them - they might focus on others then. Second, hand out your treaties to one or two of those big races you don't want to battle against. In all likelihood they won't break it. Get some alliances. Once the Drath persuade others into a war against you the ga

This is indeed very interesting. It has been hinted/complained by many players that the AI can trade techs in a way/amount that the player can't follow, and you've just found a proof of this. I wonder from where the Pirates got those techs? I mean, they have no planets so they can't research, they have either (1) traded for it from another civ, or (2) did start out with it?

Having relations set to anything above "unknown" lets you speak to those races firstly on 1stMay; having the SuperDiplomat-Ability reduces the date to 1st February.
This might not be a bug.
Affirmative. If you have actually any kind of relation then it would only be logical to assume this relation stems from a previous meeting/encounter... However, if you can talk to those races from Turn 1 on, then there's somet
Not silly at all. You will find that the stupid AI leaves planets undefended from time to time and if you have allies they will take care of defenders leaving planets open for your transports. The invasion technolgies also boost your soldiering bonuses i.e. your planetary defense and IMO one should build up a good defense first before worrying about offense (ships and weapons). Having large populations of well trained (and tax paying) soldiers
