I don't have any online play under my belt (invalid pasword/username for two months (wasn't given my email password by the people who set it up for meso i can't send emails)) but the build I have the most sucess with is Sheild (lvl 3), Penitence (lvl 4), Surge of Faith, Soul power, Divine Justice, Dead Ward (lvl 4) Last Stand (in case my teleport while under shield gets interrupted) Favor item: Amulet of Teleportation. I personally would love a map editor/mod support in general. User generated content in almost any form will extend the life of a game.
Bounty is the best, a demigod at a higher lvl than you should give you more gold and vice versa. Also how about a revenge system: you get more gold from the player that keeps killing you (+5 times).

As Oak you can use a lvl3 sheil (.1 cast time immune for 6 seconds) and then the amulet of teleportatiion(3 second cast time) to get scot free out of a tight jam...
