I didn't know a cell could link in a message. Cool!

Here is a link to a comment made by a programmer about Ubi's new DRM http://techdirt.com/article.php?sid=20100127/2100117954#c208 I was going to just put some key points here but the whole post is too relevant. If folks don't like the length I'll edit it out and you can go to the link.
As a 15+ year game developer I honestly understand all the desires behind such an idea. It is m
Like ships tha can hijack frigates They tried this during beta and it was scrapped.
Dang! Too bad that didn't work out. I always thought it'd be cool to see various hijacked ships from all races in a pirate fleet. Imagine a KOL with all the pointy spikes and pirate flag on it. That would look wicked.

Yes. The expansions build on each other. So you can play Original Sins or Sins plus Entrenchment or Sins plus Entrenchment plus Diplomacy.
I would think they would. Star Blazers was popular. I like the shot of the Yamato firing it's point defenses.
Could we launch colony ships without civilians? Sometimes I'm shuttling people from a full world to a less populated world and I'd like to not need to put "1" on the ship just to send it back to pick up more people.
That was a nice little surprise wasn't it? Thanks Stardock/Ironclad.
Was there sound to this and I missed it?
Yep. The beta is closed.
Isn't "change" great?
Oh I wish. Gamers are a rare breed where I work. I would love to fly a little viper around the office and check in on people but I need this job.[e digicons][/e] Enjoy your ride guys and gals!
In the TA Ship Designer the "favorite" ship parts tab are never saved right. If you close the game and start it again it will be different parts.
Is there a date for release, and upon release is this game going to be released on Impulse at all?
So far there is no news about an Impulse release and it may never happen. I've been researching Matrix games and they are DRM free except for serial key. They do not have unlimited downloads though so you only get a limited time to download the game and archive it. You can pay extra for a 2 year "download insurance"
Oh! There it is. Thanks for posting the picture.
Acronis True Image Home
This is an awesome utility. If you use Seagate drives you can download DiskWizard which is based on the Acronis utility. It would still be worth a purchase for quick restore of a failed drive though.
Hmm.. This game is looking very interesting. I might even buy this direct instead of waiting for Impulse. Some videos of it are posted at Code Force
EA is really going down the pipe. And after bringing us some of the best games around, like the earlier (pre-BC2) Battlefield titles.
Yeah back when they were Electronic ARTS instead of Evil Buttheads That Want to Monopolize Everything. **cough** NFL
I've been playing this game for over a year and I'm still very glad to have this detailed strategy guide. Thank you and nice work.
Still no. And here's one for SNL's "Really" segment. ipad name draws feminine hygiene jokes
Can it play Sins or GalCiv2? Then no.
Q:Is there an "off-line" option. A: No. Done. I look forward to seeing you go under Ubisoft. Good Riddance. If you want to see how it's really done then check out Impulse or Steam.
Fixed bad triangle on TEC Kol Battleship mesh.
Hmmm.. Is there a picture of this? I never noticed it. The Illum and scout changes look mighty tasty!!!!
I knew publishers would eventually come to this. I'm just surprised it wasn't EA first. Next on the agenda will be subscriptions to the game. "You can play for the low low price of $29.99 per year. That's half off of buying the DVD version. Most gamers don't play a game more than 6 months anyway and you can reactivate the game anytime in the future for only $19.99!!"
