For me this problem does not affect all apps, for the newly released Twitter app the settings pane does not work - it disappears immediately. Lunar Phases is another app where the settings pane does not work for me. It doesn't matter how the Charms bar is opened (through the ModernMix popup or by using the hot corner) and the charms bar isn't disabled.

As I understand it there are licensing fees involved with including a MPEG2 codec. Including such codec would require a price adjustment for DeskScapes and most users already have such codec on their systems anyway (DVD Player, Burning Software, Video Editing Software, Windows Media Center etc.).
But if apps are forced to run full-screen the app designer has the challenge to create something that will work in all these different conditions. But when you run them in a window these apps can really shine.
This "challenge" (well, I have to admit I expect UI Designers to always do this) is the only reason Modern Mix delivers pleasing results. Given that most developers were not able to design their Windows apps for different screen sizes/re

Sure, we’ve seen and heard a lot about it, we’ve been able to try the Consumer Previews, we've been able to get our hands on the final bits when they were made available back in August and now that we have the official release of Windows 8 all we got is ... Start8 ... !?

I was running Fences Pro Beta on Windows 7 (32 Bit) and installed DeskScapes 3 the day it was released. After a reboot I experienced the problems descibed in this thread, whenever a dream was running my fences were displayed even if they were hidden before, the label on my fences disappeared, and the quick hide feature (double-click) of fences won't work. A uninstall/re-install of Fences Pro Beta fixed this.
Let me know if this works for you or not.
This worked for me, thanks. I thought that Beta 2 (which was the the first version of DeskScapes installed on this system) added support for double-clicking .dream files but apparently this was not the case.

The following was reported for the free version of fences earlier, on localized versions of Windows Fences adds English menu entries to the desktops context menu duplicating the existing localized menu entries. While the intention of extending the regular context menu entries to reduce clutter may be reasonable I don't understand why this was done by replacing them. There is a "Configure Fences" entry anyway so why not make this a submenu of it's own where one may find all the funct

I experienced the same thing with the option "Use internal player" checked (using Vista Ultimate), from what I gathered from these forums this means Deskcapes is used to render the dream. This problem does not exist when using Windows DreamScene to display the dream.
