LOL maybe the devs don't know what TDN stands for yet, so they'll look at this topic and decide. [e digicons][/e] And Trader Defense Network does sound like a news channel.

What I'm saying is it's irritating that the AI even uses them at all , since they're so darn easy to kill.
With the negative income you will undergo while abandoning the planet (which will cost you more than you saved on extractors), as well as the lack of being able to use your Akkan during that time, this is no exploit at all.
Wahoo! Three cheers for the AI! LOL.
Like Darvin was saying, it's incredibly easy to just build a few scouts, and then they're dead.
Sim City (Societies sucks big time). Escape Velocity Star Control UFO: Alien Invasion is an excellent X-com open-source port.
OK, I'm gonna bump my little rant again. The AI is as idiotic as ever with siege frigates. Devs, is there any hope? The AI suicides its siege frigates, and then cripples its economy and fleet capacity to replace them. It must stop.
Banned for not capitalizing the first letter of the post.
The Halcyon Carrier, with 1.041, can carry 11 squads at level 10, due to its ability. Not bad. The other carriers have 8 at top level.
Latest GTX 260 drivers. Both machines on LAN have one. I'm getting a ton of crashes, similar to the multiplayer sync bugs back in 2008, that was supposedly fixed. Specifically, I get a crash exactly 88 minutes into every LAN game. From then on, the crashes are random and much more frequent. There is occasionally a minidump that is 0KB, but other than that, nothing. Ironclad wants more info, but I've already submitted my dxdiag, and it happens all the time, no matter what game. <
That's not what we want. We want scaleable AI difficulty.
I'm also annoyed when I choose Malice, and since it starts on autocast, it fires automatically right away, even when I'm not ready to use it. There goes that AM.
I'm also annoyed when they aren't first on the list. There should be a way to select all capital ships, especially with the Advent.
Why are they so bad though? Vasari seem to suck at repair in general.
Excellent post. +karma. I fully support ALL of these changes. Darvin, you seem to have an excellent grasp of the current situation with the AI. Hopefully the devs consider all of these changes. I would happily pay $30 for an upgrade that simply implemented this list of changes. As far as priorities of fixing these problems, issues with the AI and starbases, as well as the AI's economic decisions (including replacing siege frigates), are two of the biggest.
An excellent post, DirtySanchezz. Could you send that to the devs? IMO, this is a big deal for the next patch and the Diplomacy microexpansion. Clearly, Ironclad has two intelligent options: increase the value of multiplayer, or else ignore it and focus on the singleplayer experience, with things such as better AI.
Yep. I definitely agree that this expansion is aimed at SP. As such, some AI improvements would be only expected.
Random maps need fixing. Planetary upgrades do not build in the correct order. The AI needs serious fixing. Specifically, siege frigates (AI insists on maintaining 5, and sending them in unprotected), capital ships (selection, usage of them, and ultimate abilities). AI still does not use superweapons. And AI does not research enough.
I agree with customize autosave intervals. My game always seems to crash 13 minutes since the last autosave. If you're concerned about hard drive space, just make it overwrite the last save,
It's also in the Distant Stars mod. Actually kind of grotesque, IMO. Wish I could turn it off.
SF are definitely pretty weak still. And yeah, the AI still builds way too many of them.
The Vasari is a dictatorship, the TEC is a democratic, capitalist society, and the Advent is a theocracy.
I really don't like dynamic movement. It unbalances everything and really isn't what the designers intended. That, and the fact that a ship does a lot less damage using it.
I play Sins mainly, but I have a copy on my brother's computer as well, and sometimes he'll play a LAN game with me. I also have a copy on my laptop.
Great, thanks for the encouraging note!
