I've played one multiplayer game. Was a but fun, but quite fast, and bit too much to keep track of. And even the nice players aren't too forgiving of noobs, I may try playing again someday, but it probably won't be until Rebellion.
Froggy I really much wish you'd rather work on the AI for Fallen Enchantress.... Just sayin
He's already said it's pointless to write AI for a game that's so far from completion. Why write great AI and then have it all go to waste, because the game changes? I only hope he'll have enough time before release when it IS ready to be written.
Alt-tab error. And yes, I get this a lot as well (still).
Units are produced in bulk by default (groups of 4). This includes caravans and settlers
I fond this issue particularly annoying. Sometimes caravans and settlers were only one pop, and other times they were 4. Annoying figuring out how to change them back and forth.
Getting tired of this as well.
This is one of the best ideas I've seen so far. A few suggestions: make these traits rise out of actions that are actually logical. For example, your citizens fight off an enemy attack against odds, so they become "heroic". Your city becomes the highest-income in the game for x period of time - its fame spreads and income increases further. You have lots of tech researchers and studies all in one location, innovating - your city becomes a center for knowledge and re
My soldier (I trained myself) captured a "Band of Fortitude" from a bandit. He can't equip the item, not being a champion. However, he can't transfer it off to someone else either, not being able to trade items. So it just sits in his inventory, being unusable. I have a save; tell me if you feel it's important enough for me to upload.
I don't play competitively, yes. But a good LAN co-op with my brother or a friend is pretty awesome. It just NEEDS to be the full single-player game.
Definitely check out the Sword of the Stars tech tree. Masterfully done, and it looks like Elemental is definitely headed very much so in that direction right now. Random techs (which weren't revealed until the prereq tech), breakthroughs, etc. If Elemental used a similar system, I'd be quite satisfied.
Definitely looking good. Technology is my favorite aspect of any strategy game. Good to know Elemental is gonna get it right.
No matter; I still crash due to memory, or alt-tabbing, or etc. This game is crazy unstable, and on my core i7 920 GTX 465 rig too. It least there's an autosave.
Had a OOM crash in the campaign, stage 3.
I definitely like what you're thinking there. We do need some fresh ideas. The electronic warfare ones I especially like. I'll add additional comments later; anyone else have feedback or want to contribute on Sins' research system?
GoaFan77, I like the idea of prereqs. What if we made the tree simply more stuctured, like a tree, rather than so open-ended? Or would that create more problems? Darvin, Thanks for the feedback. I think we both agree that something has to be done with the technology system. Something else: tech just plain isn't
I saw in the main thread the idea of a technological victory the idea of a technological. However, I think that in order to have one, we would need to dramatically improve the current technological system. I love the technology route in any game. I'll always pursue a smaller, technologically advanced fleet over a massive one given its feasibility. Now the current technology system is brilliantly simple. However, I think it's almost too simple. A few tweaks could be in order
Hotseat. Yes. LAN? Definitely yes. Online? Maybe, not sure.
Definitely agreeing with others on the necessity of Advent PM block. I play mainly Advent, and those PM's utterly own me later game. Advent have a higher percentage of shields than hull, and Vasari ignore shields. It couldn't be a worse combo.
Well, then I may very well email Stardock about the issue. I'm surprised it hasn't been fixed.
It's really been bugging me. Twighlight of the Arnor here. The menu image, and all of the communications images (when speaking to other races) are stretched at widescreen resolutions. In fact, a LOT of things are stretched. Playing at a 4:3 aspect ratio seems to fix this issue, but of course I lose a lot of screen real estate. Is this a problem on my end, or with the game in general?
Yup. Definitely agreeing that champs are bland. They for sure need to be more special and unique.
Identical problem. I checked task manager before force-quitting the app (it was no longer responding) and Elemental was using 1.6GB of memory! I think we have a massive memory leak here. [e digicons]>_>[/e]
It's entirely possible that whatever conditions caused their crashes had not been tested by other testers. I understand it's frustrating as hell, but Stardock did not hire Psi Corps to bug hunt. They need reports and hard data.
Exactly. It could be that the demographic that happens to have certain hardware/software configs also just rants on the forums instead of reporting it to Stardock if something goes wrong.</
I haven't crashed since the beta. It must be you or your computer. Expecting Stardock to be able to test millions of computer combinations, including varieties of hardware and software installations, seems a little unreasonable, does it not? Stardock is trying as hard as it can. But the most bug-free games still crash sometimes on certain systems, and I do think you're being a little unreasonable. At least submit your bug reports, logs, and savegames to Stardock for testing.
I don't even have the "Harbor" available on my buildings list, to even try to construct! Will it not even appear on the list until an available beach tile exists in range of the level 3 city? I've triple-checked, and the tech is on my "completed" list. But it's like I haven't even researched it. We honestly need a detailed FAQ for building a harbor. Too many people have trouble building them (myself as well, this patch around, apparently). Things like exact tile/influen
1.1 here. So I've researched the tech. I have several beach locations next to my cities. But "Harbor" doesn't even appear on my buildings list! I need to explore and find some fertile land, because my people are starving and all farming tiles in the area are taken by me or my neighbors. The sea is the only frontier. Am I missing something, or is there a bug here (or at least in my game)?
