Hm, one could write a whole book about this. I´ll try to be a little more brief 1. If I would be offered a job on a space mission? Where do I have to sign? 2. What´s out there? Well, to quote Jody Fosters father in Contact: "If we are alone in the universe, it is an awfull waste of space". Seriously, I do belive that there is/was life out there. This bei

I don´t have any experience in Real Time Multiplayer, but I think in an "epic" game like this, being able to assign, for example Fleet Admirals and Planetary Governers could be cool (would likely only work for LAN). Imagine 2 teams of 4 to 6 players each, each player controling a TaskGroup of several fleets or a group of planets. They might even be getting orders from High Command) Just a shot into the blue

Imagine this scenario. "Sir, we have spotted an enemy task force closing in on Proxima III. Emmision pattern indicate 2 capitals, 3 cruisers and 6 escorts." "Ok, notify admiral Nimitz to move his fleet to intercept." - 24 hours later - "Sir, admiral Nimitz is about to intercept the enemy task force" "Put me through to him" "Admiral, this is Emperor Hull, can you confirm the composition of the enemy forces?" "Just a mom

Ok, as someone without *any* software experience (aside from playing games for almost 20 years) I´d jump into this thread I agree with most posters, that there won´t be a "perfect, no error ever" game before the universe dissolves. What I have noticed however, is that the number of patches required for games to even *run* propperly, has grately risen in numbers in the last couple of years many games needed a patch just to *run* from the get go. Yes, the software is gettin

Ok, here you go Asimovs Foundation Trilogy: Foundation, Foundation and Empire and Foundations Edge If you like them, read also Predlude to Foundation and the Robot Novels: I, Robot, The Caves of Steel, The Naked Sun and The Robots of Dawn. If you´re more into wild space battles, I suggest David Weber´s Honor Harrington series (

I´m currently in the process of downloading the multimedia files, and it works ok. At least when I am not doing anything else on the net (I´m on a dial up with a 56k modem). Even surfing the net results in an error SDS 0004 failed to retriver file xxx. But at least, it picks up the dowload where the error occured.

Putting something in the way works with the AI too sometimes. I have repetedly put a scout in front of an aproaching AI Colony ship on rout to a good system. The Colony ship wouldn´t move the next turn, and often didn´t move even after the scout moved away, so I got my own Colony ship in. :) Yes, I know, real cheap.

What Yes or No button? Seems the same thing that makes the +/- buttons disapear, also kills those. The only butten I can see is a DONE butten (below the message window, right side), but if I hit it, nothing happens.

Hello everyone, I´m pretty new to this game, so I don´t know if most of the things I noticed are already mentioned, but here I go anyway. -The map zoom. I don´t know if its just me, but I can´t find the zoom buttons anywhere. As I´m playing on Win ME and someone else reported this also using ME, mayby this is the reason? -Attack Question. I get the question, asking if I really want to attack, but no matter what I do then, only hitting ESC closes the screen, which leads
