Anti-Ailiasing reduces the presence of "Jaggies" (Hard, jagged edges) on objects, smoothing them out. It makes particularly rounded objects look much better. some notes, Most graphics cards have the default set to "Application controlled" if yours is set to something else, and then you turn it on in an application, you're gonna run into serious problems with framerate, so check to make sure it's either Off in game, or "Application controlled" in the settings.

Probably memory optimization issues. Setting the Page file up probably wouldn't help anyway, unless you have a high-performance gaming harddrive (10,000RPM+) you're still gonna eat tons of lag, since the page file is 99% of the time the most narrow bottleneck. I'm running 4GB (3.5 cause of 32bit OS ><!) and still get slowdown, but I always attributed that to my lulzy Processor and Graphics card (Ruled out graphics card cause setting on absolute lowest results in 0 performanc
The AI has one disadvantage, and that's how predictable it is. As long as you aren't getting double, or Triple teamed, it's fairly easy to hold your own against them. One of the most important research upgrades in my Opinion is the PSIDAR as TEC, especially if you're on a team with AI. You can have them preemptively strike the forming fleet before they can attack you. Contrary to one of the above posters, I don't use lots of Carriers or Hoshiko's as TE
Embargo is ESPECIALLY nasty now in entrenchment with Starbases, I've managed to boost income by 21 credits per second by 1 spammed trade world including a maxed starbase trade facility. I think this also works in Star gravity wells, which are enormous, and if a player is attempted to get the sizeable bonus for creating a cross-system trade route using a starbase to bridge the gap, that is easy money. I think, if anything, As Darvin3 said, capital ships need
The one thing I don't like, is how up their own asses most of the "Elite" are. Really, they need to take a moment to remember that they were beginners too and crawl out of their sense of undeserved self satisfaction. Games are supposed to be fun, and it's perfectly fun to lose, you learn as much from a (Good) loss as a win, if not more. What's not fun is having some uppity cock gloat like he just did something in life that actually matters. One thing a lot of people ne
Every capital ship should have a passive ability that benefits the fleet as a whole (In the gravity well) Some already do like the Akkan (Though the range is a bit limiting), but more so than the firepower they bring, capital ships should boost the morale of your forces. Just some ideas. KOL: Passive Defense bonus to friendly Frigates, Cruisers and Capital ships. in the gravity well Dunov: Passive Repair rate increase to friendly forces in the gravity well. <p
A little mico managing helps, but I'm a KOL spammer as Tec so Flak frigates usually just take out what's left (And it isn't much after 4 flak bursts). But I still have to set them spacifically to a control group and "Hold Position." If you order them to hold position, they can usually make good cover for Ogrovs against newer starbases before the max upgrades are made. But, don't matter how many flak frigates you got, when you play an actual person who knows how to prio
Been playing Beta 2.5 for a while, and it's good fun, but I think there's just a little balance issues, though nothing major. Maybe I only think they're balance issues but I'd rather just put em out there and have them shot down than wonder if I should have. *Anti Structure Cruisers. Oddly not a complaint about their power versus structures, but I think they're far too effective against other vesseles. They can do massive damage to other ships, and tha
Better Planetary scale. Sins has a very good sense of Scale, however the planets and stars seems a bit too small and similar. Ice planets are pretty much fine. Ice Dwarf worlds in the Kaiper belt are seldom larger than the Earth's moon. However the Terran, Volcanic and Desert planets should, not only be made larger, but have varying sizes of each. Gas giants should be brought to more of the size of Stars, and stars should be made even larger.
I liked that only the Vasari Starbase moved, it made sense in terms that the Vasari are constantly moving on their exodus away from their unkown threat (Probably an ex Girlfriend or something) And what the Advent and TEC lack in Mobility for Starbases, they make up for in sheer power. I deployed a new starbase in an enemy gravity well with just a few frigates and a dunov against a Vasari Starbase nearly maxed (Guessing, hull/shields were full) and it was taken down pretty fast onc
I think, if anything, the anti-Structure cruisers are more unbalanced versus other structures, 3 Ogrov's take out pretty much any defensive structure in one salvo. Which is fine I guess, they are specifically designed to destroy structures and be tehsuck against everything else. But maybe Anti-Structure Cruisers could fire just a little slower, especially those advent Starfish of doom... TEC has a real advantage with starbase defense though, 2 Dunov Battlecruisers + a
A story mode would be nice, but how to effectively incorperate it seamlessly with the fantastic Sins Gameplay mechanics is my question. I wouldn't want one that feels tacked on just for the sake, and with such strong story elements in play between the 3 factions, it, as everyone here already knows, has amazing potential to make every race compelling and sympathetic.
Don't know if this is where I should let it be known, but I keep running into a 100% thus far, consistent minidump crash. It occurs on the "Gateway" Scenario, against 5 Hard AI. Occuring after a coordinated attack with an AI ally is over and the AI begins sending their fleet to other locations. I've got oddball minidumps before, but they never really happen often enough to worry about until this one in particular. Entrenchment rocks by the way, especially considering i
