One of the achievements seems to be broken; says 'String Not Found' for it.

Shut up and take my money!
FIXED IT! Seems the Steam version is missing the Visual C++ 2010 x86 redistribution package. 1. Just go to here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26999 2. Download the vcredist_x86.exe package 3. Put it in your \Steam\steamapps\common\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\redist folder. Launch the game again, and it should install the Visual C++ package and launch the game. The game
Hmm, that's strange. Try doing a Verify Game Integrity check in Steam?
I have. Like a dozen times. It hasn't fixed the issue; it says one file failed to validate and would be redownloaded each time, and each time it still does the prompt. What I can catch the first time I run it after booting up my computer is a flash of "Installing Microsoft VC Redistributable" or something to that effect. That only appears the first time I run Rebell
Title says it all. Each time I start up Rebellion, it asks if I want to allow Steam to make changes to my computer, I hit yes, and it flashes 'performing first time setup' for a second and then the game launches. It runs fine, but it's more than a little irritating to have to do this each time. I've validated the game cache like a dozen times now, and each time it tells me a file failed to validate and would be redownloaded. I've uninstalled Rebellion several times now and

I just end up shrinking the planet reports to try and remove some of the clutter from the other side of the screen. Would be nice if there was an incentive to use it, but as it is... yeah... I find it really useful for planet production orders while managing battles. I also edit my user.settings file to set the max unit stacking to 99

The advice I was going to say has already been said. If you aren't able to repel culture at one planet, odds are there's at least one planet with multiple media centers in orbit. I found the AI had built like seven media hubs in one gravity well at one point on one of my maps; it made clearing them out incredibly frustrating, since I had to send out a few scouts to find the source of the culture. And as was also said, one the Advent, especially the Loyalists, ge
For me, it's about building up an empire that sprawls over multiple star systems, with several fleets moving through the various systems either patrolling for hostile incursions or expanding my empires borders. I've never really played the multiplayer for the simple fact that I prefer single player. Aside from that, I love doing SP maps where I have a massive fleet clashing against a large AI fleet, watching ships explode everywhere, and getting that feeling of satisfaction as I watch
I'd definitely support Steam Workshop support for Rebellion; it'd be a great way to share the various game mods out there, along with presumably a better way of sharing player made maps. We can only hope Stardock/Ironclad (depending on who makes that decision) moves to work with Valve in implementing Workshop support.
Sigh 5-10 flak frigates with a scout. Enough said.
My personal preference for a possible patched in solution would be that if there are hostile mines left in a gravity well when you take the asteroid/dwarf planet/planet from the other side, that the mines either get automatically removed, or the more likely case of being added, let construction frigates clear the minefields out if there are no outstanding structures to build. If I'
I've faced fairly substantial fleets on the map I'm playing on from the AI, though I'm also playing on a Random Huge (Multi) map. Encountered a Vasari fleet with like eight capital ships in it, plus numerous light carriers and other ship types. It could be the map size restricting them, with the AI unable to get the resources to research higher level supply caps and the like for you.

Also, if you want to play with the pirates on, they always have a base of operations you can capture or destroy.
I'm going to add that if you want to neutralize a pirate base, you don't have to send a fleet in to clear them out. If you are playing as the TEC, you can just fire two Novalith cannon shots to destroy the pirate base and neutralize pirate raids in that system. The
So, a Titan that gets destroyed and then rebuilt retains the level of the previous one? Is that correct? I haven't had the chance to play the beta yet to find out for myself.
Hi there. Preordered Rebellion earlier in the week, and I haven't had the chance to install the beta yet, and I have a question: what role do corvettes fill? What I have read is basic and what was said when the x-pac was first announced; somewhere between strike craft and light combat frigates in terms of firepower, etc. What role do they currently fill? Cannon fodder? Or harassing support ships and hit and run attacks against specific targets? And where in the Tech
