Actually, I was falling behind and all of a sudden I started 'finding' precurser Rangers, and ended up having 18 of them [e digicons]:D[/e] , almost one per turn. Didn't really help though, since they are very vulnerable to frigates with lasers / missles [e digicons]>:([/e] . Same time though, when I was doing very well, I noticed some of the AI's were finding Rangers and precurser Corvettes.

I had the same problem, always occurred when running a large + galaxy, not enough memory. I actually found I got the turn button back after 1/2 hour. I kept the galaxy size small-medium until I could add memory, not it is fine.
