But I prefer the approach you took with GalCiv 2: lots of patches packed with stuff and some huge expansions, which were both very successful. But I guess we'll see...
I agree with this. I'm all for supporting Stardock, but I'd hate to see SD go down the road that the major developers and publishers have of releasing a few pieces of content every few weeks and charging $5 for it. I'd rather
Quoting charon2112, reply 110Forgive my ignorance, but what's a stamp? Stamps are pre-designed chunks of a map. Think of the Wildlands. The random map generator uses stamps to build the random map. So more stamps means you have more possible combinations for your random maps.
THAT I would support! Thanks for clearing that up.

Randomness and luck have no place in the world of the veteran MP gamer. Everything is deterministic. Do thing A, followed by thing B, followed by thing C and if your opponent doesn't do D and E, you win! Which is why it's a breeze to program scripted & braindead AIs for such games. FE is dis
For the most part whenever I see someone complaining about "balance" I know just what kind of criticism the game is in for. It's the veteran MP gamer. It's not too surprising, since most games these days are built and targeted at the dedicated MP gamer. And most online game forums are filled with the same. This gamer is the kind of person who has been trained by years of MP gaming to find the "best strateg

I know alot of people could care less about that feature..... but it combined my love of "sim"ulation games and RGPs to the next lvl...... I would really love an expansion with that feature added back in.
I agree. Dynasties were a great feature that really elevated Elemental and made it special and unique.

There are 'organized groups' of people who are particularly unwelcome....[KKK for one], but fan[club]s of kids' cartoons are not an issue. Might I suggest that if you don't understand the obsession you avoid this thread and the unwarranted imposition of one's standards over another's. Leave

The map is random and depending on the settings you choose could also depend on the city placement. Essentially every complaint in this thread about Steam involves something that isn't true...intrusive DRM, Steam controlling when, how you play, etc...Steam is quite simply the best, cleanest, most efficient DD service I've used. The only one I liked better was SD owned Impulse. But that's history unfortunately.
