- and lastly: are credits better to have than metal or crystal? or is the opposite better? since you can buy or sell on the black market, does having a lot more of one of these matter? Thanks in advance
My recommendation is to avoid using the black market as much as possible, especially early game except when it provides a strategic advantage or you have large amounts of excess metal or credits mid to late game. I personally find that crystal is more valuable than metal

In the future if you have save games you want to continue in Single Player and have the hard drive space available simply make a backup of your entire Sins application directory in Program Files. I have done this multiple times to be able to watch replays from previous games. It also works for saved games as well.
Well the smack down is apparently on. Someone finally created a Go play Entrenchment game in diplomacy...
I don't have a lot of online games compared to most here... but, I have had quite a few good games and they usually are based on how the winning/losing team responds to their victory/loss. It really takes away from the game if someone is a complete a##hole and ruins what could have been an enjoyable game. It's like going to Disneyworld and having your wife or mom bitch and complain the entire time (no fun at all!). The really great games are when you work well as a team to achieve victory, ma

My friend who was playing Visari didn't know what the hell was going on as his superweapons fired at random, only to notice autocast was turned on. Why would anyone want this thing on autocast for any reason?!
I believe this was done so the AI could actually use super weapons.
Okay, It was NOT the Vasari hangar. Last time! [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Fighting Vas? Phasic Barrier ability allows them to phase out most of the damage, and also causes anything targeting it to lose focus. An extremely annoying ability.
Aha, loaded the replay... It was indeed the phasic barrier ability on the Vasari structures. Very handy in the future I think! Thanks Kitkun!
There was NOT any phasic traps present. The bombers simply shrugged off my micro command to attack something else.
My Ansewer? Stick with entrechment, and buy deplomacy for offline play or ffa online games only.
It stinks the lobby are different between diplomacy and entrenchment. It would be nice to login and see all that are online and the games being hosted regardless of which version you are in. Right now I start a copy of Diplomacy and Entrenchment to see what games are playing.
Has anyone else had issues in Diplomacy with bomber strikecraft ignoring your micro orders. For example I had ordered my bombers to attack a frigate factory or media center and they stopped to attack a scout or colonizer. This was really frustrating when I was trying to destroy high value structures and they kept canceling the order to attack something else. Edit-Didn't realize phasic barrier on Vasari structures caused strikecraft to lose focus and queue'd micro commands&nb
just curious, did you have the ships set to hold position? I've seen this happen that way as the autocast range can be just outside their bombing range.
I will feel better if he feels better about himself!
if this were a real emergency...
Pirates have no shields, no support cruisers, no carriers, and no long-range cruisers. There are SO MANY ways to blast them before they get a shot off that it just isn't funny. I do not want pirates to go back being silly little lumps of free experience.
Not sure if you have played a long diplomacy game yet or not, but from what I witnessed the Pirate Pillager becomes a long range structure buster after it finishes with the planet. The normal defense meas
All good advice... Here is a guide I did you might find useful in regards to entrenchment. https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/374240
The point is that people like me DO find ways around this. If pirates aren't brutally powerful, I'll just shrug them off with the right tactics and the feature be silly and pointless. Now, I can understand that pirates need to scale appropriately and level off in the late-game. However, they need to be powerful enough to break through starbases and minefields to capture planets, otherwise they don't do jack once my defenses are ready.
I agree wi
It was ~100 ships total (all pirate types) in 2 groups (~50 ships each) in different parts of gravity well - And Kodiaks weren't at their 5k level. There were also ~20 Gauss platforms (~7k each), but I was not attacking them. First Group was enough to destroy my forces, second group changed nothing. Note I was waiting for pirate raid to lure most of pirate forces to attack "unprotected" pirate base...
Wo
Ok, after winning a FFA against 3 cruel AI (maximum two winners) I let the game continue to see what would happen and... I've got to agree with Ryat on this one. Infinately increasing pirate strength is not even believable. The rate of increase sounds more like an oversight to me than a planned gameplay mechanic and has nothing to do with perceived player skill. Part of the problem is actually the Pirate Pillager laser damage. Later in the game it can fire from 1/4 of t
I converted the 1.041 file I had on backup and the new 1.05 file to generate the lines in this post. It was not in the 1.041 update. I also started my 1.041 backup and verified the info card says 20 dps for the Enforcer.
Here is the change. From: DamagePerBank:FRONT 90.000000 To: DamagePerBank:FRONT 103.500000 Average DPS from 20 to 23 (4.5 second cool down)
Most people don't play multistar games in multiplayer, they just take too long.
A good multistar map for online is Dopplegangers. It's a 4 player 4 star map. Each player gets his own star with 5 planets and can colonize without being rushed immediately. It's pretty fun for 2v2 matchups or if you like playing coop against the AI. Another good multisar map for longer online games is Systems of War. It's a 4 player 5 star map with each player getting their ow
@ IskatuMesk I like all of your models especially the Zelconian Predator. Very Nice!
I wish I could not view them. I really really do.
There is but it requires you to click on the forum category and not ALL recent posts. I do this a lot for the strategy and modding categories in Sose as well as the general Sose thread to filter out the off-topic threads.
It also looks like the lobbies are still split between diplomacy and Vanilla/Entrenchment. So you will need to log into ICO with Entrenchment to see those games.

What I found amusing is that I went online and started a 2 player vs. 2 computer battle. I mistitled a game sumfink like "4 Player battle Noobs only." Many persons jumped in and wanted to play until they realized it was a human coop game. If i looked up the player stats most of them had played over 1,000 online g
