Hey IskatuMesk, you really have a talent for modeling space ships, your experience shows. It would be good to see them in action some day.
Some day soon... you shall have your wish.

She's scarcely under 11k polies right now, which is good. Lots of room to work with for this legendary ship.
Work has begun on the Bloodstone Battlecruiser
After an immense amount of time attempting to design a middle-range Anahn ship and failing, I think it's time to attempt one of the biggest of all Anahn ships. Of these monsters only a dozen were created over the course of a thousand years, before Adashim launched his campaign to retake Anahn space. Today I begin my grand effort to create the Bloodstone Battlecruiser.
Hmm. With more testing, I've still yet to see the AI cast the ability a single time. It has a strange level requirement of 3 (I think that's 4 ingame), but the majority of Zeral`Motakks were levels 6+ seeing as they're tier2 and the Anahn equivalents are only Tier1 (and they're not dedicated battlecruisers). In most instances the Undead won all major fights, but in several instances they lost some capital ships up to level 9 along with entire fleets, and they always died with max anti-matter.
This is what she looks like near-completion. A much needed flagship-class for the Xy`Kranasha that just might get them playable.
I may never know.
I fear I'm not much of a poet.
I have schizophrenia, chronic depression, and other such delightful things.
I'll give that a try and see how it goes. Getting the AI to work as best as it can is paramount. An accident, eh? I had an accident this morning that almost resulted in 4 cups of ice cold water spilling directly into my open case while it was running. Ho ho! I dance on a fine line.
I have a ship with a long cooldown charge-up AoE attack. The ability itself works fine. I can use it. However, I've been making an effort to make the AI use it only when the ship is presumably in a significant engagement (it's wasted on small targets). It's based on cleansing radiance or something like that, I think. It's a beam with AoE. aiUseTime "OnlyInCombat" aiUseTargetCondition "Any" isAutoCastAvailable TRUE isAutoCastOnByDefault TRUE pickRando
I have no education, only around 10 years experience. With my mental disabilities my skills have been permanently limited to entry-level. Nothing I create is ever complete in my eyes, it can always be improved, and I lack the skill to finish them. As it is, I learn just to live with these failures.
Question: how did you get the meshes to glow in game? I have tried several methods and yours seems the most consistent. Cool stuff BTW.
I massively jacked up bloom intensity and the texture is a dark gray instead of total black. I was able to achieve a far more effective appearance in Supreme Commander, but typically to-canon Undead appearances are outside of what games can achieve. Unless you can make a
I used Symmetry on the Alrashann. Give or take a bit of selection and tomfoolery and I ended up with THIS The Wormwood battlecruiser.
The fruits of a sleepless night of labor. But that story... is for another day.
Well, I've reached the fabled wall of progression with the Bloodstone Champion for now. I'm at my limit in abilities when it comes to fixing and detailing certain regions of it. So, now it goes to the backburner along with all the other models like it and I consider what to do next. I optimized several small Undead ships and got them in-game and working. They are simple models from around 2008. I didn't remodel them as, quite frankly, I forgot how I made them. H
The Bloodstone Champion is now in alpha stages. I believe this tells the ship what weapon to use its engagement range for. So if a ship has a weapon with a range of 6000 and a range of 2000 a second weapon, the index referenced here will make the ship engage at either 6k or 2k. Weapon 0 = 6k range Weapon 1 = 2k range m_weaponIndexForRange 1 = Ship moved up to 2k range to target before stopping its approach. I think.
At this time I don't plan to be making any public releases (all of my projects went private 2 years ago). It's likely I'll hit sins' limits before it's fully playable, anyways. Keeping this thing under 25k quads is going to be extremely challenging.
That is indeed the concept art I used as a basis for the Kraken. I had no idea it was used in a game. I must find more like it!
"As a flagship, the Bloodstone Champion exemplifies the Royal Family's taste for showiness. It acts as the focus point of a fleet and command & control; when it first enters the battlefield, the signature bladed wings of Adashim's palaces will come to mind. It is then that warlords will know judgment has come, and that its terrible wrath shall be bestowed upon them."
More progression,
Where I left off last night.
Progression; Dante > Higher DPS = AI will auto-face that direction.
Assuming I get that far, I have around 6-7 races to create + the replacement for Pirates. Each unit will have custom sound sets. I'll be able to do around 50-60% of the voices myself, and have other actors I can contact and a few communities I can contact if this project ever reached that stage of completion. My greatest concern at this time is the hardcoded entry limits for SFX and music, and if they account to the ram limit or not. If they do account for the ram limit, the music wil
