Amazizing! Yes, with an extra zing there!

Another good idea is to actually link to the skins instead of just bolding the name. I know that would be time consuming but that way the readers can click and not have to search for a skin. Thx for the article!
I'm gonna put a plug in for my aged but kickin' cursor. It was a revolutionary cursor when everyone was still "drawing" cursors. I might have been the first person to use a 3D app to create a cursor. I admit that the animations are not as good as what we're used to seeing today but still worth checking out if you have never seen it before. [link="https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=410&libid=25"]X-Wing[/link] by me. :)
Great links, Leo!
I'll be short and sweet. 1) The site is not linking to the content. Instead, it is simply letting you download from their servers that harvested it from WinCustomize (I know it's WC because I don't upload my stuff anywhere else). So the person downloading has no idea from where the art-work or whatever you want to call it originated. 2) The site is not really giving you credit. Your user name appears but it is not linked to your WC account, so it could be any "yourusernamehere"
I find it interesting that people mark MS as "thief". What MS did was to arrange great deals with IBM back in the day to have the rights to MS-DOS. That catapulted them to success. Windows was a much later activity. There was nothing "stolen". If you're going to throw the whole "they stole Windows from Macs" thing, don't bother. Apple "stole" it from Xerox, MS "stole" it from Apple or Xerox. The point is, MS played its cards right and Apple didn't. Now MS is the target of criticisms and
What software developing companies like MS don't understand (or, more accurately, choose not to, due to stock holder stupidity) is that people that use pirated software don't simply say "Oh, I guess if I can't get a pirated version of Vista, i'll shell out $300 for a real copy of it". Instead they wait until the OS is pirated -- and Vista will be, too, just like any other protection scheme. So all that a tighter leash on security does is annoy valid users, cause your costs to go up, and overal
It's a great idea for those who like the coffee smell but don't care to drink it. Then you can wake up to the coffee smell without the expense of brewing coffee and dumping it down the drain.
Opinions are just what they are, so here are mine: I have been using Windows since versions I can't remember that ran on MS-DOS 4.0 or something. Anyway, it amazes me how people talk about Windows crashes and reformats. I have had a box alive at home now for over 4 years with no reformats at 4 in the morning or any major problems. That is saying a lot since I like to pile on a lot of crap on my system in terms of applications. Yea, the system is probably slower now than it used to b
That's crap... Creative didn't exactly invent anything either. Hierarchical data based menu interfaces have been used in all kinds of places for many years. It's not a novel concept created by Creative by any means. Cramming it into a small screen might be new but it's nothing worth a patent IMO. The people at the patent office need to get a tech training some time soon or this patent crap is going to get out of control. Let me patent double-clic
I about s**t my pants when I first started reading this. I was ready to b****slap Brad across the face for surrendering to the large lame corporate internet mongers... By the time I got to the boat, it was all good again... though I wouldn't mind if WB came free... GO YAHOO!!!
"50/50"? Isn't that a little steep for the developers? :-/
Even if you use FireFox, you still have the whole IE framework on your machine and are just as prone to the mentioned worms and trojans and backdoors. Unless, of course, you have a magical way to remove all IE remnants from your Windoze ssystem, which, as far as I know, is close to impossible. If not, then simply highly improbable.
FYI, on "My Skins" page, the "new comment" icon doesn't go away even if I go view the comments and come back to the page.
OMG, I'm so stupid. Did not think of that... I thought somehow the max window size setting was messed up the whole time. Everyone needs the obvious pointed to them sometimes. Thanks Koasati.
On some DX themes I used, I had work area filling the whole screen since I had the taskbar hidden. Now DX is unloaded but my windows still maximize to full screen, covering up the taskbar. Is there a registry setting I can reset to restore the maximize size for windows? How do I have my windows maximize only down to the taskbar height? It makes it quite a pain in the wee since I can't see which windows I have open or which tray icons might be flashing when I have a window maximized. <img src="ht
PSP all the way! PS is so overrated. PSP has more bang for the buck me thinks... It had some issues in 7 with PNGs which was a bummer but 8 and 9 fixed that.
Aaah... Archangel_Douglas, I wish I had seen your post before I had submitted my bootskin. Isn't it nice to have undocumented limitations like 22x9 and black bg. :-/
Because the free version of CXP doesn't allow resizing.
That also made me wonder... Is this really a competition of who submits first? How many subscribers download pretty much every skin? Is downlaods really a good indicator of skin's quality? Maybe the competition should have been "Ratings by subscribers" instead of "Number of downloads by subscribers". ?
Ja ja... Ich spreche Deutsch, ja... I think it's a great thing that those Germans came up with a German forum for Stardock programs. Useful stuff...
I just wondered if it is just to feature a WinCustomize skin while there is a competition going on. I guess not too many subscribers really download a skin b/c it's featured and the main increase in downloads for the featured skins would be from random visitors but still, I just wondered what others are thinking about this... T.
All done Marbleman. It should be available as soon as it gets approved. > I went with 50% on normal and alternate pointers and 75% on the move pointer. I left the resizers and text selection alone because I thought they were already good size. Enjoy... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/sm
Oh, and I started getting that page when I try to add comments as well. When I go to Netscape I can still add comments but when I'm in MyIE2, it gives page not found error.
Thanx Marbleman. I will create a smaller version for you and upload it. How does like 50% sound?
