The laptop is an Acer Aspire AS6930-6073 with A GeForce 9600M GS graphics card. I'm not sure about the TV model, only that its a five? year old sony projection 42" TV. I have a feeling that Kryo's right on the money based on some research, and that I was a touch mislead with the cable I purchased. Any tips on a way to connect my laptop (with HDMI and VGA outs) to my TV (with composite and component inputs) without breaking the bank?

I purchased an HDMI to component video cable, thinking I would be able to connect my laptop to my TV. My TV has a component input, and I know that we use the same spot to connect our DVD Video recorder (model # DMR-E85H). My laptop has HDMI out, and I've used it on occasion to hook up HDMI to HDMI. So far, despite my best effort, I'm not getting any picture or video on the TV, and my laptop doesn't seem to recognize a second display source. I really would like t
Would multiple tributes from multiple QoTs stack?
I'll post this here too: They added a feature that allows a demigod to select skills and/or buy items after they die. This new feature, sadly, crashes the game, and may account for your random crashes.

I have definately noticed lower sim speed players (1-4) with great pings still lagging down the game. I'm not sure if the extra cycles are slowing down the ability of the user to send out packets or what, but when they drop out the game runs smoothly. Whether this is actually a simspeed problem, or whether sim speed is more of an indication of the quality of their PC, I'm hard pressed to know the answer. I do think most people can fix their problems by messing with the sou
The thing that flies in the face of your note is that currency is a must have upgrade. +4 gold per second pays itself off in 7.5 minutes. That means that in a 3 vs. 3 match, currency pays itself off in 2.5 minutes. In a 5 vs. 5 match, you earn back that 1,800 gold in 90 seconds! QoT's tribute stacks with currency. And while I wouldn't automatically get it every game, if you're playing with 2-4 other team-mates, and the match isn't getting close to ending soon,
I would really like to see the timer for the mines to be longer, so they have to sit there an extra second or two before exploding. At the moment it i$ almost impossible to avoid them in a game with high pings. Also, how does the damage compare to UB's spit? It seems that the mines do as much damage (more if you count the fact that they hit everyone in an AOE) instantaneously..
Medium gets a little too dicey torwards the end of the match, I've toned it down a notch more and we're good to go. Played a match while on ventrilo, worked beautifully. :)
I've had similar issues since the patch (and I just mailed [email protected]). It crashes for everyone in the game, and it seems to happen right after someone is killed. Here's my log: [quote]EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at address 0x7c9010e6 attempted to write memory at 0x8bc44d93 Program : C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Demigod\bin\Demigod.exe Cmd line arguments : <
I like the idea. More awards means more chances I feel like I did something to help my team after we lose. ;)
Honestly, I have more problems with sim speed than ping. I think a lot of people don't realize how much the sound settings can effect the speed of the game.
Will do. Right now I'm busy F5'ing ups.com. :) UPDATE: I've got the laptop (two days after ordering - not bad!) Its very sna ppy, I feel that the 2.4 ghz dual core is doing me justice. The display isn't as snazzy as my new 23" Dell Monitor (and I miss having that much desktop space), but its fine for my needs. I can't hear it running at all - I'm almost worried the fan is dead, but I think its just because I haven't pushed it yet. St
Exactly the info I was looking for. I ended up springing for the deal listed, and it will get here on Wednesday. I don't need a pentultimate gaming laptop, just something that works.. :)
What about a one-off, mega giant, or equivalent? "The Forces of Darkness have summoned the Master of Death!" It would come with the next wave and walk slowly to the enemy stronghold, giving plenty of reaction time. It would be a gamble, as it would give gold and experience on death, but it would wreck havok and draw the attention of your opponent, letting you slip in for some portal capping.
It depends, to me, on whether Impulse is in charge of the sales. If they are selecting new hot games, and listing them for a couple bucks off so that they can "outbid" Steam and other retail fronts, then more power to them. If these small discounts are publisher-initiated, they should be listed in order of percentage (or dollar) off. That would leave the sale encouragement, but give emphasis on better deals.
Great point - this should definately be changed in the future.
Just a heads up - I'm not sure how well this coupon will trade. The code someone posted in another thread was identical to mine, so I assume that the code is freely available for use, but you might have to own demigod to use it. SIDE NOTE: Any cool games to spend this on, besides Sins?
Any tips on what to spend it on? :)
I don't think selling idols and buying new ones is not an exploit - the amount of gold you lose is fine by me for you to have two extra units for a brief period.
I've been having issues with lag spikes since this update - I haven't been able to complete a game yet (but I need to test further). It could be my connection is having a bad day, but I thought I'd give a shout. This was in both 3v3 and 2v2, custom and skirmish. I think upping the disconnect timer would be helpful..definately unplayable at this point. EDIT: Still no luck. Tried Proxy only, no dice. Its odd that the game runs perfectly
So when he says RakNet, he means that RakNet wasn't involved in the development, only that they liscensed the use of their code for Demigod - whereas when you say RakNet, you mean the code you have paid RakNet to use?
According to Froboy's wonderful breakdown of what does what in Demigod, I learned that in addition to Impulse/Stardock and Gas Powered Games, a third party's network package was used called RakNet. After reading recently that GPG wouldn't be using Stardock anymore, I became concerned. Frogboy has since clarified to say that this was a misunderstanding, and that GPG has a great relationship with Stardock and that GPG would not be using the RakNet for their multiplayer solutions.<
Cool! Playing with Frogboy is still on my to-do list. Was it a custom game?
OP: That definately needed to be said. I'm a bit sick of team mates saying "YES!" when the opposition gets priests. The "mental" map control is often taken for granted. People tend to feel free to move up until they get to where their creeps are fighting. If their creeps are constantly at my tower, I've got a lot more shakey ground to cover to knock you down that last 500 hp. If priests were a free upgrade, I'd take it almost every time. But th
