The manual is sorta skimpy on details on the game settings Habitable Planets, Number of Planets, etc. (Rare, Uncommon, Occasional, etc.) Is there anywhere I can find the actual numbers. For instance if I set Habitable Planets to "Rare", Number of Planets to "Uncommon" and Number of Stars to "Common", how many of each will I get? BTW, i only have Dread Lords, vers 1.53 Also, can i get more detailed info on difficulty levels. My manual lists

When creating Custom Maps, is it possible to have a planet represented by graphics used in the regular game? For instance, if I create a Star System named "Sol" and put a planet "Earth" in this system, how can I get the picture of Earth, just as it appears in a normal game?

Nevermind, I figured it out after wading thru years of prior posts. Apparently, for each race created, the game automatically creates an XML file that is very similar to the RaceConfig.xml files used in the game's DATA file folders. These files are called " " and have a RACECONFIG file type and are stored in Documents/My Games/GalCiv2. The same place that the saved games are stored. This is not locate

Okay, I've managed to modify a race and I am wondering why the values aren't showing up in game. I opened the RaceConfig file in notepad, then modified ability scores for a particular race. You know, like adding 50 to Luck, 10 to Trade Routes,etc. Trying to make a super-race.
