its actually a common misconception that a linear scale is somehow the "normal" progression for armor and the the logarithmic scale has "diminishing returns". this isn't actually the case if the quantity you measure is time to live, as opposed to damage reduced. this is due to the fact that increasing levels of damage mitigation are compounded on top of existing mitigation. going from 80% to 90% mitigation doesn't increase time to live by just 1
The point of this post is that focus-fire won't work very well against a shield team - and that might be a problem later because it's what we are all using to kill teams right now. You find the weak link and kill them first. A team like this doesn't have a weak link, really, and as long as they don't get cocky they can down all your towers really effectively without much risk.
Aye, they don't have a weak li
Ok, here's a way to get random. Get a coin. Then flip it. If it's head, you're light side, tails dark side. Then flip it again. Heads for generals and tails for assassins. Then flip it again. Heads = top DG (that fits other criteria) and tails = bottom DG (that fits other criteria). There, random DG!
Sorry but I don't belive it's 1.8gold/goldmine, I just started a Zikurat map starting with 4 goldmines then I took the mine in the middle so I had 5 mines, if it was 1.8 gold/mine then I should get 9 gold each tick but I got 10 gold. And if we would get 1.8 gold / mine then I would have got a lot less gold in my first tests, I would have got ~36gold/10sec instead of the 44gold/10sec.
Oh sorry, I mean't each tick i
I have a question...does armor mitigate damage you recieve from towers?
Yes. Also, I did some math. Against normal attacks, UB gains 218ehp (ehp = hp with armour factored in) from the +600 armour item, and 464ehp for the +400hp armour item. Clearly the +400hp item is far better.
Doggiedoddle, you just confirmed by findings about the gold rate. Thanks. :] Basically, each gold mine mines once every 1.8 seconds. At the start it's 4 gold per tick, then 8, 10, 12 for each Mint upgrade respectively. Also, you guys aren't factoring in the number of gold mines you have. On Cataract you start with 3. You can get 4 on Crucible and start with 2. So it varies map to map. So, some math. On Cataract, you can get the first upgrade in 5 mi
What are you doing to do when the enemy DGs come and chase the Oaks away? Rook ends up by his lonesome, a good UB will make sure Rook doesn't escape (several towers + creeps + UB = dead rook). From what I've seen the Citidal has hax health regen (something like 100hp/ps) so that means if Rook dies, you're out 30 seconds. Then it takes 30 seconds to get back if no one intercepts you. That's 60 seconsd of 100hp/ps regen. Or 6000hp. I just see a team of 4 Oaks and a Rook getting co
Anklets (with Boots of Speed), so I'm 99% of the time the fastest DG in the game, letting me avoid Inner Beast and Diseased Claws till late game (level 15+). 90% of my damage comes from abilities, so Furious Blade is useless to me.
Yeah. The Heart is an item I strive for in every game with any Assassin I play as (Generals less so). It really does need a bit of a nerf. I reckon 1 minute cooldown (up from 30 sec) and the requirement to stand still will make it more balanced. Leave the gold cost as-is though. It's just currently too powerful if you can simply kite someone away while regenning to full health/mana, especially as the TB.
It's fine. Really. I
Well, the current build I've been going is... Spit Ooze Nothing Spit and Ooze Grasp Nothing Spit and Ooze Post Mortem Nothing Spit And Ooze By level 10... Well ANY DG with less then 3k hp is pretty much dead if you get in grasp range with them. As for Ooze... I just think of it as 140dps that ignores armour. Doesn't matter how m
If you go Spit + Ooze + Grasp you'll completely destroy Sedna 1v1. Her heal can't keep up with Spit + Ooze, not to mention that lvl4 Ooze cripples her normal attack (as well as minion's normal attacks). So, spit, run in with ooze on and melee. If she tries to tele or run, use grasp.
Quoting woca, reply 12wrong. its not faster. it just shoots all from same place. so that tower looks fast so if 8 towers next to eachother. they shoot 1 time per second ... then one of those towers will shoot 8 in the second Ah, sorry mate - thanks for the correction. Using this, we could actually create long links using Rook's Towers and essentially "move" the Tower's combined DPS away from it's original point whil
I've been trying out a build that I find really effective you can try out. It's main goal is holding an area and taking out towers quickly. It's completely useless for killing enemy DGs (tho they'll die if they get cocky against you). Basically grab Blood of The Fallen favor item (required or you won't have enough hp). You need a TON of mana, so you get all 4 helms, in this order. 4,2,3,1. The last one doesn't give much and you can skip it if you want (+8). Also grab some +armou
Well, that's the thing. People rarely leave/drop when I join other games (talking custom here). So, I'm either really unlucky, or something weird is going on.
Ok, I just checked using Fraps. Towers have a 2 second fire rate, and towers linking is purely visual. It has absolutely no effect on fire rate.
Heh. I just played a game (sadly 3v2) with Rook. Well, I'm pretty sure the enemy was rather surprised as I took down 4 of their towers and stole one of their spawns (map was Prison). I was only level 8. :]
Ok, got a strange problem when I host. It's happened 7 out of 8 times, so chance is ruled out. Basically, whenever I host, someone leaves as the game is loading. I have absolutely no idea why.
Ok, so spit does more damage then fireball. You're forgetting UB only has 2 nukes, both of which are DoT. TB has 4 nukes, 3 of which are near instant. He also has several AoE buffs/debuffs, as well an as AoE stun that is crazy against creeps AND a ranged interrupt that casts near instant. UB is pretty much the best DG in the game at dealing damage, while TB is more of a support/utility role. I don't see a problem here.
I'm sure that Warscore is not increased by kills in any form. How fast it goes up is purely based on how many flags you hold. The enemy does most certainly get extra exp/gold if they farm the priests. Thing is, if you protect they can be a REAL danger. I've won a few Conquest games without advancing past priests. It's amazing what a giant blob of them can do.

Aussie here too. liq3 is impulse name, add me if ya want.
I find around 400 is perfectly playable. Of course, 450+ is definately starting to push it. I just wish everyone else knew that. -_-
Hrm? Of course a good UB is scary, but that's the same for any DG (except maybe Sedna). I play Rook and Regulus often, and I find UB not too much of a problem with either. As Rook his low hp means he can't tank my towers/hammer slam, and spit does little to my massive hp. As Regulus, my mines + MotB mean he usually loses 1/2 or 3/4 of his HP before he gets a spit off, so he either runs away real fast or dies half the time. And yes, I do do a lot of runn
