I don't even play Demigod anymore for exactly that reason - I don't need to take any advice from you.
"One who wears cutoff t-shirts, lift weights, and drinks gallon jugs of water. Usually plays football, wrestles, and is very muscular. They tend to have short hair, and frequently wear sleeveless shirts. Drinking protein shakes and shopping at Hollister are also essential parts of the average meathead's day. Meatheads also tend to abbreviate where they live by putting the first letter of the city, and adding *town after. In addition to lacking high IQs, </span
"dont think its our place to determine if P2P or client server is better" Heroes of Newerth and LoL never lag because its client-server. Demigod always lags if a player has a high ping and/or low simspeed. I'd say thats pretty conclusive.
"You don't get the advertisement crap do you? 88% of the time it's usually their the entire game and than some." Bullshit. "Secondly: What makes you think it's always them and never you sometimes? I've played against russian, canadian and americans who both lag and don't lag." It obvious who is lagging from the ping and/or simspeed. As I already said lag is never a problem for me in client/server games. "Thirdly if it bothers you so much th
Because an advertisement at the start of game is more annoying than having the whole game lag because Igor from Russia is playing on his steam-powered PC? And if your PC/Connection is good, and the server PC/Connection is good, there is no lag, end of story. In every game I have played of League of Legends or Heroes of Newerth there has never been any lag, or hackers for that matter.
The animation department doesn't have enough money to make a walking Occulus.
I don't think I have seen any proper clans in Demigod. The game isn't popular or competitive enough, unfortunately.
As a DG Player I want client-server networking, because I don't want the quality of my game to be determined by another player fcuking up the P2P.
"Being literate is a crime of pretention. Heaven forbid anyone take the time to think, eh?" Being literate isn't a crime of pretention, but creating melodrama over a non-event is. Heaven forbid how you would react if something significant ever happened in your life. "The irony of this statement seems to escape you." The double-irony is that it has escaped you.
Emo gayness isn't contagious; if you're not prone to pretentious introspection on an internet forum, chances are you never will be.
This post reeks of emo gayness.
No matter what gets patched or modded into DG, the game is always going to be hamstrung by its peer 2 peer network architecture. That is what annoys me the most. It means that even though I may have a great PC and connection, the playability is always going to be determined by someone else; it also means that we are probably never going to see essential server-side tools like vote-kicking, reconnecting, and proper (accurate) recording of stats.
In the lobby most games are now modded to allow playing the new demigods. So doesn't it just make sense to release them now?
For a teacher you don't appear to have a huge amount of common sense. Do you take everything you read literally?
Premade is only a problem in Demigod because Premade always equals pug stomp. Thats because: 1) The community is not big enough for easy premade vs premade. 2) The matchmaking/stats aren't reliable/descriptive enough to ensure the game has a semblance of balance.
Some of the decisions made in the past with respect to Pantheon and skirmish suggest the devs had their heads in the sand. One feature isn't very popular so let's remove another feature? People quit Pantheon early because they don't want to play certain people? Why not address the real, GLARINGLY obvious issues, like AI in Pantheon games or uneven teams? Thats why people quit early. We might as well face it, the horse bolted a long time ago - custom game is the only wa

Part of the reason no one wanted to play Pantheon was BECAUSE of the AI - it wasn't a catch 22, it shot itself in the foot right at the start. Its like the devs banked on not many people playing Pantheon - way to have confidence in your own game.
Much internal debate? This really is such a no-brainer I can't understand why it took so long.
Poor troll, yet everyone on this thread between the first post and this post took the bait.
Then surely it wouldn't be that difficult for the server to maintain a record of the game, and continue to check the number of players in it whilst it is still ongoing (every 10 seconds or so). If it detects that a player is missing it waits until that player is back in the lobby and offers them a chance to reconnect.
