Since however many patches ago the game seems to use a rediculous amount of bandwidth when its trying to connect. I run a ping to google.com alongside it and it times out whenever the game is trying to connect to people. In addition, 9/10 the host will boot me because it lags me out in the lobby and gives me a ping reading of 10,000ms or something equally stupid.

I agree with all the points here. I've pretty much given up on this game now since not being able to connect on the 11th May Patch. I'll check back in 6 months, because I honestly don't think the majority of the problems will be fixed AT LEAST before that long, if at all. Its all well and good blaming the pirates, but there are "deficiencies" in impulse that just suggest neglect. There are so many robust, feature-rich multiplayer services out there its inexcusable

No need for me to forward ports, I have turned Vista and Router firewall off. There is still usually always one person I can't connect to in a game. If these people are the host of the game it boots me out and tells me "NAT has failed". Router is BT Home Hub 2.

I personally hate the houlier-than-thou forums of some games where everyone has to pretend to be an enlightened renaissance man. Anybody who is offended by something someone has written on an internet forum needs to get a grip. People insulting each other is what the internet is for and it makes it much more interesting.

"nd were are you from? france? Canada? Like they have ever been in a war. and No neather of them have. Dont bother saying the war of 1812 because Canada wasnt even created yet." Surely its better to not be in a war than to start a war, inflict millions of civilian casualties, and withdraw years later in humiliation.

This is why you need some indication of rank for each player. A shithawk who always quits will end up with a crappy rank and you can just boot him whenever he gets into the lobby.

Yep he has all the time in the world in your theorycrafted make believe game where demigods only fight each other in 1 vs 1, but in an actual game with other demigods and minions he doesn't have time at all.

Erebus is by far the easiest DG to keep alive, just use bite for more health or teleport out the area with bat swarm. Played a lot of games where Erebus never died once. "Popping mist and bat swarming costs mana. If erebus is a fair way into a fight, chances are he's pretty low on mana, quite often I've got enough for a finishing bite and that's it. " Nope - by the time I am fairway into a fight I already have a pretty good idea if I'm going to win or not (usually with Bite I am). But if I'm not I can be sure I will have saved enough mana to bat swarm away. "If he pop's mist and isn't behind his own lines, you can just wait f

With the exception of silence all those can be countered with bat swarm out the danger area or if that doesn't work pop mist to become invulnerable.
