There was a change in GC3 at some point, maybe Crusade only, where the diplomatic bonus from trade only applies to civs that have certain trading/economic traits. I'm not clear on which civs have that bonus and which don't, although I think that the Iridium definitely have it.
It could be that I haven't gotten the needed Techs. I will pay closer attention to that. Thanks!

Hi Charch, Maybe you're thinking about the Open Borders Treaty? That still works.
Thanks Charch, "you also get a diplomacy bonus for having a trade route, so sometimes it can be worthwhile to send them races you have differing ideologies from just to help offset the negatives." You know, that's the way it used to be, but I no longer see that listed as a plus in the Diplo pop-up when hovering over another Civ. I still see things like Out of Travelling Range, Ripe for Conquering, Open Borders Treaty, etc, but no more mention of the Trade Routes. I don
Publius of NV, "A PQ25 on the edge sounds ideal. If you build one or more economic star bases around it, don't forget to build the star base improvements that boost trade routes." Thanks! I forgot about that...
Thank you for your answers. Income seems to be the consensus along with the distance factor. That's good, because I have just found a Q25 planet that loves to make money and sits far away from anybody else :-)
What attributes should a planet have to be the best choice from which to send Freighters? I never know if it should be high population, money, or what... TIA, Richard
It used to be that you could toggle between date and turn but that option disappeared a while back. The dates are meaningless to me and I want to see the turn numbers. And I don't want to have to hover over it to see the date, either. I consider that an annoyance.
Hi GC3 Programmers, There are two things in particular that I would like to see addressed: Planetary Projects - I would like to be notified when the project completes. It is far too easy, when one has a lot of planets, to overlook a planet when new Techs become available. Ship Lists - I would like to see Ships and Fleets each have their own lists rather than having them mixed in with each other. A ship is not a fleet, it is a single unit. It would make
Out of curiosity, how many lines of code in Crusade 2.33?
Dear SD, I found some new (to me, at least) errors: Espionage - "enimies" (misspelled) Diplomacy - "You are trading with an infidels" (infidel - should be singular) Also, Timeline text overlap - I am using small interface Thanks for all your hard work and the resulting wonderful game, Richard PS Will we ever get a Hotkey for ship cycling?

Planet projects, such as Aid Research, just reset when finished. there is no notification and it is easy to forget Is SD ever going to include a hotkey for cycling between ships? Thanks, Richard
I wrote a 4-part article showing new players how to win at GalCiv III. I hope it helps!

OK, Seilore, I think I understand what you're saying. Thanks for the quick response, Richard

I'm looking for the list that includes the opt-in updates. Version 1.7 has had several opt-in updates-- there must be 5 or 6 by now. I know I saw that list once upon a time but, for the life of me, I can't find it now. I've searched Stardock, Steam and the GalCiv3 forums to no avail. TIA, Richard

Thank you pshaw! At last, I can now rest...
Cute :-) How about a real answer? Maybe it's obvious and I'm missing something simple... Thanks, Richard
