Here we go again huh.... Its Fries here just "hoping" that this is gonna be as much fun as the last versions. Ill be picking sins/R up next week off steam and I cant wait to hopefully see lots of the old crew floating and raging around the multi player lobby and the forums of course, raging, QQing, smurfing and Im looking forward to all the mid day shenanigans taking off once more. Big shout outs to [_], DT, and _|~ for still hopefully being around and more high fives

Chuck Norris doesnt needs scouts for information, he just sends them to let you know he is coming. When Chuck builds research labs, its so he can research downgrades. No computer could handle an unhandicapped Chuck Norris. Chuck Norris doesnt play games, games learn and are grateful for Chuck Norris Guidance and participation.

Pick a race and learn it well, as each race has certain build orders that influence race strength and weakness. Since you are on the forums, spend a good time reading about the different capital ships and frigates. Knowing when to run from 10 ships and laugh at 50 ships is important. INTELIGENCE: Scouts are your best friend. They tell you when to attack and when to pull back. The main thing is tempo, keep attacking, make sure you have scouts flying back

You can colonise the roids ASAP with one coloniser. Attack with scouts and LF as you tech for LRF.Main thing is just beat the fleet as much as you can. Send both scouts straight at his fabricator/builder units. When in AI grav well, kill factory and once your fleet starts to get bigger its easy. Ive been playing this a bit against AI of late, as I encountered this as a 1v1 vs a guy who scout rushed me straight away. The trick though is getting out those colonisers straig

As a new player (ie few months) I can say that this game "seems" to have good things going for it, however a few big down sides too. ICO issues are always a pain, but can be dealt with. Smurfing however is a pain. So many games of late have been wrecked due to 3 ppl pretending to be noob, so that as soon as game starts, they ally up in FFA, or simply rush rush rush in big games. I dont mind people who are better than I, thats all good, great for experience and learning however

G'day! There are some aussie players out there, but not many and I agree it sucks when you get home after work aussie time (ie 6pm) and want to play but there are not many around. However, weekends can be good, and so is early morning Aussie time. :)

Suggest you watch some replays from multiplayer games and watch how people expand at the start. VS ai, especially Easy AI, you should not be building static defences(NONE), instead focus on growing your fleet up and attacking. At the start of the game, try sending a capital ship to a neaby planet whilst building 3 light frigates and a colony ship to send to the nearest asteroid. You can capture two systems at almost the same time. Always go for roids first, they are qu

I got 64 bit, 4 GB ram, 1 GB BFx, and quad core, play everything on high and adopted the tactic of attacking from multiple angles based on what I see coming off the starbase. (BTW, sins is one of the OMFG prettiest games ever)..... BTW, IF, SB do not have different sides, why does one SB have a forward shield?
IF you can hit SB from both sides it helps too, as it means only one part of your attack is recieving direct fire.what? SBs can shoot iny any direction. Ok, thats news to me. Ive always noticed when attacking from the front and back seems more effective. Why do starbases turn then to face fleets if there is no difference between front and re

I gotta agree with Amish here (not that I ever disagreed with him).. Bombers are awesome against SBs. Issues are flak and fighter and repair structures around the SB. If this is happening you need to look at counters.Dont be shy to repair them every once in a while, a whole fleet of chewed up bombers doesnt help. Recall them, repair them, reinforce them, then send em out in a whole wave to take out one structure, then pull them back. Best advice if you hit a heavily defended S

Great feedback so far guys, thanks for the input. 1. The fortification upgrade makes sense now as a time or delay option. If I feel I am gonna lose a system, I do sometimes sell up to recoup the cash, however I see the point in leaving it there to delay the enemy. The upgrade is the same principle, so cool. :) "The Holy Trinity" = Coloniser, Carrier, Bombard Cap ships (Radiance - Ok, so this thing kicks ass, Ive used it against AI with vengence from th

Hi all, Ive been playing for a few months now, learning heaps each game. In game, its just Fries and again, big thanks to all the advice from ppl during play. I started with TEC, moved to Vasari (which I love) but have recently been playing mainly advent for the obvious imbalance benefits (forgive me, Im noob). Im finding that most of my big mistakes of late are strategic in nature, and these cost me the game, ie not aggressive enough, or capping the wrong systems or player. So Im her

I would love to hear some discussion on how the top players actually use their fleets.. Fleet Cap ship - Tick 1 (Ctrl + 1) LRF (Ctrl +2) I rally all Flak (Ctrl + 3) and carriers (Ctrl + 4) on the cap ship. Fighters and bombers are normally (Ctrl + 5) Fleet enters system, cap ship is on hold position and gets moved by me personally. The LRMs go straight out and attack, and I micro them as much as possible, whilst using the strike

I think of the two concepts of micro and macro as tactical and strategic. Micro Actually controlling ships as groups or individuals, ship as effectively as possible, removing autocast and using specials directly. Making personal decisions about where to place structures in orbit. Most micro is conducted at the system level, ie around a planet, roid, etc. Macro Most macro I think is done when the map is ex
Rule #3: If you're losing, or feel you're going to start losing, SAY SOMETHING

If you dont know what counters what ask it will allow you to get the counter before your enemy is already destroying you.
As a new sins player I can say this is one of the most fundamental aspects of playing and leaning to play sins online. I'd like to say a massive thanks to all of the players who have helped and taught whilst playing. 1. At the start, ask play

As a relative newcomer to the game Ive learnt that IF you get hit by scout spam early, you biggest ally is build speed. Scouts have to be 3v1 or more to be effective. Once engaged the enemy has to build more and faster and you only need to build 1-1.5 for every three. That being said, if the enemy has 30-50 scouts in your HW early game, then you missed something before they got there. However, its fascinating to see the way scouts can be used. Questions
