If you are a Steam fanboy, which is the same as a Steam supporter, then kindly shut the hell up and don't comment on how wonderful Steam works, don't give me platitudes like "I've been using Steam for several years and I have never had a problem with it". You're a liar if you say something like that. I hope that is blunt enough for all who read this. I can honestly say, that to the best of my knowledge, I have never had any si
Intro says Vasari left beacons behind and those beacons always went silent. How can a virus shutdown automatic beacons and spread in space without carriers? Also the whole beacon idea isn't the wisest one, leave a path of beacons to trace you.
I can see how the virus could work and still silence the beacons. I imagine something similar to the show "Firefly" and the reapers. Virus itself makes the i

Never saw the scout part but advent rebels have been really weak to play against. Last game I played I took over all 5 of their planets with no resistance besides every gravwell having a single colony ship. Ended up finding their capital ship and a few frigates a half hour later in the star gravwell...by then they were dead anyway...free xp though... Set them to hard mode too... A bit out of practice but I figured they would givea bit more trouble to a rusty old vet...

I do agree the TEC can be ugly at times but for the most part they aren't too horribly out of line considering they are retrofitted trade vessels. However, while in general I do like the Sova carrier... It's just too similar to modern carriers(why do we have a massive deck? Put some turrets on that thing!)... Hoshinkos are a bit mullinium falconish but I like it overall. They only one I outright hate is the design of the new surfboard capital ship, I keep wondering who kept pushing fo

Lore wise I don't think that makes much sense to simply forget about a warship or instantly double the price of a ship. No trade would really destroy the purpose of the TEC. Lore in this is continuing the timeline, not making it wibblywobbily so your more advanced than 10 years ago but less advanced than 20. I agree the new faction powers are additive but they don't have both strengths. Tec rebels are good offense and get bonus for it, loyalists are good defense and get bonus there in

Yea, a problem I see with people who get into free open betas judge the game for the beta quality. Won't buy it, it has bugs in beta mentality. Even a few real life friends are this way... That said, preorder people have a vested interest in testing.Preorder peopleprobably have the first games and know the lore, design, mechanics of the previous titles and know how things should work, have an opinion ofwhat shouldn't change, and knowledgable input on what should change.

I get the lore being repurposed civilian ships for tec, but they already had the KOL out by the first game. I'm not sure on exact lore timeline as to how long the war has been going since vanilla but I would think they would want to keep the R&D division going to make another real battleship.... Not keep repurposing ship after ship.

I don't know, I kind of like the advent ones. Advent wasalways my favourite faction (underdog FTW!) and I especially like the revelation 2.0! The butterfly is less cool but still fits their style. Never did like the Vasari tbh. The voices/ship design always annoyed me so I can't really comment on them too much. Style for them seems to be relatively similar, not my taste though. I didn't look closely at the textures of the Vasari, but I don't think they were too off. Vasari nev

I like it. Keeps from nerfing it to a really expensive capital ship but makes it from being an auto win. Would like to see something to stop the levels from getting out of hand though. A ship is only as good as its' crew. If a lot of crew is lost, perhaps some levels should be lost. Problem I've seen, beyond what you've described, is that a difference of a level or two in a Titan can rolfstomp anything it encounters. Possibly add damage to crew compliment to keep from gettin

Personally I kind of want a nerfed version of the TEC's SB red button ability for when the Titan goes down. Friendly fire too. Lol. Make it take as much down as possible and have to worry that your fleet is about to get destroyed by your own Titan. Would work well with ramming speed.

I would love a campaign. But I think the game is still amazing w/o one. In my experience, strategy games are only played for a campaign once. They typically lack an amazing storyline IMO. Few choices are ever made, look at SC2, even if you chose to eliminate the enemy from mission X you fight them the next mission....woop'd'doo... Supcom1+2 I played campaign once, sc2 once, WC1-3 once, Etc.. Soase has what keeps people coming back, big battlefields w/o objectives save for victory.&nbs

In response to primary interface issue 1) this may be a bug you've encountered. When zooming out to view the gravity well, as I assume is what you are talking about, each ship type should be colour coded to faction and have it's own specific icon. Same thing for structures. The only object inside the gravity well to have the faction symbol on it should be the planet. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

I had this issue when I initially set graphics to highest ingame. I just had to wait a min or 2 for it to look all pretty. Seemed when I changed quality it set them to lowest then loaded the highest. If you haven't try giving them a few min.

I'd like to add that my fleet, after entering a system, seems to want to fly out of thegravity well for no real reason. No commands given to do so, no green arrows indicating that the have an order issued that I messed up on. Hoshinkos(spelling?) don't do a thing but take up fleet supply, the sit at the edge of the system or bum rush a star base and seem to maintain enough distance so they can't heal anything but each other. AI is horrible. Sta

IMO titans seem about the right size. The one I thought would be different is the corvette class. I thought it was supposed to be smaller than a frigate, but standing next to a cobalt, it is hardly smaller. I was thinking half the size of other frigates, not 97% the size. Lol. All well, such a small gripe for such an amazing game.

18 Replies 18,702 Views

Pretty sure GoaFan77 is correct there. I'm just worried right now that the Titan becomes a game ender a little TOO well. Vs the AI I took out anupgraded star base (15khealth with all the weapons upgraded) at lvl 1 when it went through a minefield/turrets/hangers... Honestly, the pilot must have been drunk, I don't think he missed a single mine in the entire system....

I thought I had this problem too, but I think my problem wasthat I was timing it wrong. Id destroy it before the boarding party got to the ship or the duration would pass and then i'd kill the ship. Think the boarding party lasts a few seconds and has to be active as the ship is destroyed to...mysteriously instantly repair hull/shields. Lol. Not a fan of the ship overall tbh, but boarding party is a nice new ability.
