To be fair, the HoN guys try to seperate the veteran and noob community by certain matchmaking restrictions (has something to do with successful players not being able to join games containing noobs or so). By the way, how is LoL compared to HoN or DotA? Graphics seem worse than HoN. Does this game improve in any way on the DotA gameplay?
The buildings and catapults can't be hit by spells because that's how DotA worked--because that's how WC3 rolled. It doesn't have to make sense as much as be totally similar to DotA. Trying to sneak into the enemy base and blow up a couple buildings, a.k.a., Backdooring, is highly frowned upon by the DotA community. Thus, buildings are invincible until you have (in dota) killed the towers in front of them or (in HoN,
I played a bit more with HoN and even submitted some bugs ... and then I found out that they were features .......... You know Demigod or any other RTS game, ok? Soon after release some balance changes happen, often leaving the cool parts nerfed. Not HoN! HoN is nerfed from the start!! For example: You have to destroy the enemy buildings, right? So it makes perfect sense to ... make buildings immune to hero spells. Got
Aroddo I am experienced with these builds and thus claim to know what I'm talking about. In my case, experienced means to have played at least 10 games against at least hard AI. Oh God no The AI is retarded!!! Even Nightmare AIs are a joke. Experienced should mean played at a least a few games against top 100 teams and won. JuareZz, after the first ladder reset I primarily played Erebus, Oak, Rook and Unclean Beast.[
Just in case anyone starts to dispute any changes/nerfs I propose and accuses me of "you never play XXX so STFU!". :) I am experienced with these builds and thus claim to know what I'm talking about.
I'm going to have to agree with Shadow; most of the recommended changes are rather silly, and show why balancing a game can be so damned difficult. As an example, I would disagree with all of the Erebus nerfs. He's hardly my favorite character, I'm more of a Rook guy myself, but he's simply not OP. Batswarm is not only an escape, it's an EXPENSIVE escape. 700 mana at level 5 is nothing to sneeze at, and often means that after you run
From what I understand, there exists quoting code on other forums that seems to be more complex than what it is on these forums. You should stick with quote and /quote to avoid the problems you are running into. Hey man, you don't know what you are talking about. Let me explain the problem to you... ---- Or do something like that. The 2 examples I gave makes things pretty clear of who I'm quoting/talking to, and where the quote came from.
I just wish mulch would be in open form and uproot in closed form... That build works? I have totally given up on dueling with QoT and dedicated her to Siege and Support.

You do not speak for the people. It's obvious just from the replies in this thread that most people don't agree on what changes should be made. You are deciding which ones you agree with and using those as your suggestions. My suggestion is: make one change at a time. E
Cool map, but the lanes are too long. Long lanes means too many creeps at the same time, which will slow down many PCs.

It is literally impossible to drive a Rook away from a flag if he has 3 or more towers up at it by yourself, and even with an ally, it can be frustrating. Don't tell me to stack armor, I do stack it, they still do roughly 80-85 damage a hit (it's like 115-120 without stacked armor) and they have attack almost once a second. It takes about 7-10 auto-attacks to bring one down, and in that time, you'll probabl

graphics are cool, animations awesome, music is great, story is infantile and the gameplay is repetetive. sounds exactly like an updated version of diablo 2, eh? ;) I bought it some while ago but couldn't warm up to it. Maybe this kind of gameplay had it's peak during the Diablo 2 days, back when it was new. Besides, the skill system does it's very best to prevent the abuse of spamming powerful spells ... and finding a way to abuse aspects of the game to pown all and e
Regarding the zoom feature of HoN: You CAN zoom farther out by the use of console commands. But zoom out too far (that would by about standard height for Rook players) and the play zone gets overlaid with black patches ... either an engine limitation or another option I don't know about yet. Anyway, if anyone suggests in a thread at the HoN forums to implement a zoom feature akin to Demigod then you get usually involved in a one sided scream contest against DotA fundamentalists:
This is funny to me: Also, I'm not looking for single-skill complaints - everyone knows by now that QoT's Tribute skill sucks (at level 15 at least) - but rather how the overall performance of a demigod skilling strategy compares to the rest of the game. And yet your list is a line-by-line opinion about how you would design each skill. That really has nothing to do with overall performance of a demigod. This is a "let's redesign the game" list.
A

I don't really see a complaint here, apart from flavor.
Yeah, Dj is probably my favourite skill. I just love watching all those green and blue numbers pop up. It's a nice bonus when using SoF, but little more than that, and certainly not anyones first choice in a game where you're having troubles fighting other DGs. You could argue that DJ is simply meant for improving farming, but Oak doesn't really have any specific issues with that as it is righ
Soul Power One point into this skill is very well worth it if you're getting minions, preferably early on so you also can take advantage of the passive bonus to the fullest. But getting level 2 and 3 is a lot harder to justify.
Rather than further improving Oak, I suggest that the power increase should be more evenly distributed among all three levels of that skill. Apart from that I agree. [
Minion build, low damage output? lol dude, minion QoT does way more damage than any other build, you can easily keep up with the damage of other DG's. QoT just needs some good lategame skill, intead of the tribute thingy there should be something that increases shambler damage more.
Maybe I can rephrase that. To my (and many others') experience Oak minion builds are feared because spirits fly and can easily gang up on other Demigods and Ereb
