Quoting Busdude, reply 3 I came across a TB today who was really effective, but it was very fishy. Not sure if he took fireball or not, but he was in ice almost the entire time. He spammed attacks really quickly for 200 damage each even though I had scalemail and nimoths, and was running really fast, while snaring me like hell, and seemed to have unlimited mana because he was spamming rain of ice upon recharge it seemed. I don't even know what to say to the lone players. Maybe, "what the hell are you doing?" This is a team game, and the only games that are meaningful or fulfilling in any way are the ones between organized teams. If you don't play in a premade, or at the very least are trying to meet people so that you c
However, when you purchase the items they do not change your favor count. So basically, once you get about 2k favor again you effectively have every item.
It seems that TB and other AoE characters would benefit greatly by fighting in large-scale battles (3v3+), or against generals who use minion builds. As I cannot play anything above 2v2 myself, has anyone else seen a difference in his effectiveness as player totals scale upward?
When people ask for Hammer Slam to be buffed, I think they forget that it deals 1700 damage at max level, more than a TB fireball or a sedna pounce. They forget, too, that UB's spit takes 10 seconds for its full effect to be unleashed, and is quite easily countered with priests/sedna/items when they ask that Spit be nerfed.
Quoting pseudomelon, reply 9Would someone please explain why hammer slam isn't viable until level 10? There have to be more people out there who can learn to time things through lag, and when you look at it, level 1 roll gives the perfect amount of time for a slam... Because anything with an interrupt is going to toss your salad, foul grasp, pentinance, pounce, TB's freeze thingy. not counting if they run or run behind you, itll

Regulus is an awesome hero right until you get into a team fight. Simply attack him and the first thing he will start doing is run away (or die, either way, it's win-win for you). When he starts running, assuming you can't keep up with him, you begin to beat the crap out of his teammate. He'll come back into range. Repeat as necessary. He basically leaves his teammate alone with 1 1/2 Demis on him. Fun for the whole family! The whole suicidal family.
I recently had a torchbearer who decided that the best way to combat double spit UB's was to get into melee range and autoattack "because it does splash damage if you're close". I was playing Sedna, and I'm proud to say I managed to keep him alive until level 2.
Warp stone was at one time one of the best items in the game. However, it has since been nerfed and isn't used much anymore :( It's still very helpful for getting out of select situations, such as a wyrmskin UB's slowing attacks.
I can't wait to get replays and observe some of the better TB's do their thing. I haven't bothered pick up the Demi since I gave up single player, days after the game was released.
Bad idea: Falling asleep on keyboard while playing stupid forum games.
I've played a lot of games with people who choose torchbearer, and I can only think of one player who ever used him to any great effect. Is torchbearer simply worthless in 2v2, am I simply getting paired up nonstop with bad bearers, or none of the above? Is TB simply gimped?
Mmm. I've played with a couple...Maybe in 15% of my 2v2 games? They're really, specacularly rare.
Bad idea: Waiting around for them to do so.
I'm willing to bet Demigod suffers from DotA syndrome in that 'noobs only' games get filled with whatever experienced assholes can fill them up first.
What with the difficulties tracking scores that one already finds, I don't think we should waste time/effort with this.
What's the item that makes a Ring of Fire (like TB's)? Saw someone using it last match, didn't seem to be worthwhile at all.
Brilliant. Consider me to have signed [e digicons]:digichet:[/e]
From what I've seen, the coordinated team that gets crushed is a lot more vocal than the public team. Not that it makes me even hesitate to continue crushing them, mind you.
What the hell is the point of this thread?

I really doubt this will do anything to stem the flow of pirates, for any more than a week.
Because then half the posts on these forums would end in somebody having a bloodied fist and a broken monitor. Nobody likes being constantly corrected. (kidding)
