Ah I see. I have some hope that stage would come soon. In the meanwhile, well, you'll have to host any game we would like to have together then. :P
Oh don't worry mwdowns, I'm playing only customs so far. I have little incentive or intention to play on the pantheon so far. You'll probably see me messaging you and asking you to join a game I'm in. I try to do that to every person online in my friend's list who isn't already in the game I'm in, provided that the said game has slots open. :)
wbobeirne hits the nail on the head. Coding a new demigod wouldnt take a terrible amount of effort I'd imagine, since the framework is already there. Making the assets and balancing on the other hand would consume a huge amount of resources. Fixing what is there already should be a priority over making more content. Dow2 would appear to be light on content for similar reasons.
I think wbobeirne meant to show how much more difficult it is to produce a n
Porygon for a Polygony character...inspiring :P That aside, Usoll (the lady with the owl, I presume) looks like the first female assassin Demigod.

Has anyone got that SUPER annoying De-sync warning of a person thats De-synced? It pops up and its like "so and so is de-synced" and then I would hit ok. Then it would pop up like 5 seconds later. Good thing is we were winning so I was like meH I can handle this. but the really harsh thing is what happened next. I wa

I've heard talk of opening up the AI so that it can be modded by a true strategist familiar with LUA scripting and RTS games.
I can think of one person who can pull this off: Sorian. He modded the AI in Supreme Commander to make skirmish games with bots fun all over again. The community would play and give lots of feedback, which he would use to imp
CtizenKane2, this beta patch has been the second one I've tried so far, and I can ensure you it does not in any way affect the proper updating of future patches. The betas are official betas that Stardock has released for the community to try out in a live environment. They're not some third party attempt to get things working. In any case, Stardock has indicated plans to upgrade the current beta to an official release patch soon, so just hang in there. Also, I've tweaked my own route

Do NOT believe anyone that tells you 250+ is ok, they are simply desperate for a game, and while I do have sympathy for these people, it's not fair to everyone else to keep perpetuating these false claims and having those of us who do have good pings, and live in the region the game was released to sit through laggy games.
Stardock and GPG should learn from their mistakes and stop claiming to have fixed these issues until they have working proof that they have done so. Judging by the comments made in reply to the OP so far, it would seem that many issues are yet to be solved, with new issues being introduced.
I don't think working proof applies here. Such is the difficulty of developing games on modern PCs. For consoles, you're
Nice to see I'm not the only one. [e digicons][/e] But I'm sure you're joking about the xylophone.
CitizenKane2, there has been a beta patch which improves connectivity. A good bunch of us SG players were online yesterday and we managed a game or two. Try updating to that patch and see if it helps! Details here for the update: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/351222
One thing about casting that DG has which Dota does not: being able to cancel casting a spell. I absolutely love the convenience of this. You cast the spell and just "undo" it by quickly issuing a move order before the cast time is up. It is very forgiving of mistaken casting or if the situation changes while the cast is in progress and I love this so far. [e digicons]:D[/e]

I think the whole point is that while you are not as willing to wait this issues out further, there are lots of players who are, especially when Stardock gives the community regular feeds on what's happening with remarkable transparency. With or without you, the community, the game, GPG and Stardock lives on. Might as well just hang in there and be rewarded with great gameplay when it all comes through. If it gets too frustrating, perhaps go play something else while things stabilise.
I've just updated the nvidia drivers v185.85 and this problem still persists. [e digicons]:([/e]
This thread is exactly what I'm looking for. At first I thought it was just a "low setting" issue. Then I saw many fancy effects that were apparently invisible for me, and asking a friend (with the same lowest settings), he confirmed that he can, in fact, see them. Level up effects are also missing for me, as well as the ring of fire and whatever has been mentioned here. I'm on a 7900GS.
Great thread. I'll be waiting for the official launch as I don't really have spare time to drop down SLS. I'm sure Demigod should be a good hit in Singapore because Singapore has a ton of die-hard DotA fans. If they are willing to spend $60 odd for DotA (I say, 80% of WC3 buyers in SG buy it for DotA), then Demigod shouldn't be any issue for them. DotA is a mod, but Demigod is an official game mode, so I suppose the su
Yeah! The more the merrier! Hopefully future patches will resolve all the connectivity issues once and for all and we can all play together!
The strategic zoom would understandably take some time to adjust to, for non-SupCom players. I've played both SupCom and Dota and I'm ok with quickly zooming out and clicking on the place I need to go. However, I do admit that zooming out and clicking is indeed slightly slower than quickly clicking on the minimap, especially when you've zoomed in for spell targetting just before.
Yes, CitizenKane2 is on Mio as well. I have hope that the next patch may solve this problem. Let's all not give up and hang on there. We'll be able to play soon!
Perhaps things would be better with future patches down the road. Hang in there CitizenKane2, at the very least, we can plan our games such that you be the host. You can try joining other games created by SG players and find out if it's any different. We'll try experimenting again the next time we meet online.
I'll chip in what I think is the case here. I believe you're misunderstanding what's going on. As stated, Stardock is the publisher, and GPG's the developer. Right now Stardock's acting as the correspondent/spokesperson on behalf of both GPG and itself. The patches are developed as a joint effort between Stardock and GPG. Feedback from the community are passed on to GPG by either company's staff reading the forums here. I've seen both Stardock and GPG staff post on these forums myself
