I'm experiencing the same issue, but less pronounced. I'm not really willing to super inconvenience myself depending on the troubleshooting, but I'm more than happy to run a dev build with some extended logging or another tool to get you guys diagnostic data.

About your title. Just because someone plays multiplayer doesn't mean that they don't use the AI. I actually only play comp stomp games with my buddies. As for the rest of your post... tl;dr your inflammatory title turned me off to helping you.
