Not quite. This is the tech support forum. http://forums.demigodthegame.com/forum/526
Supreme Commander is still the best RTS ever in my opinion cuz of strategic zoom and the fact that stuff can miss [e digicons]^_^[/e] . It doesn't feel anything like command and conquer or age of empires. *trying to think of some game that I would call completely original* Oh yeah, I liked Indigo Prophecies. I would only rent it though since it doesn't really have replay value. And if you people haven't yet, yal should play through A Bards
it pisses me off when my team mates harass someone who's not doing too well on my team and of course, i don't enjoy getting harassed when I have a particularly bad game either.
I think the rage quit stat will be nice. Like InfiniteVengeance said, people don't really wanna be with you if you are constantly getting disconnected. As for having to quit over real life stuff, I can handle having a few rage quits on my record over that. I don't plan on having real life stuff come up that requires me to quit mid-game every time I sit down to play Demigod.
dannnng 400 or 500 points is a huge penalty. Atleast for a newer player.
whitefire, frogboy gave an explanation about why it has to be p2p in one of the dev videos. He talked about counter strike and some other examples, but it basically boils down to the fact that in demigod, if you attack someone on your screen, then they darn well better take damage on their screen--rather than see your character running around a few extra feet away. I see what you're saying though. The p2p stuff does bring up a bunch of annoying issues, but I'm guessing that star
Yeah, I just did a test game on prison with just an easy AI. I got storm bringer (-20% cooldowns I believe), staff of renewal (-20% cooldowns), and the celerity flag (-15% cooldowns). So that means I shoulda had 55% cool downs. That put my Ring of Fire cooldown somewhere between 4 or 5 seconds (i dont know if the game rounds off decimals). So, I casted a first ring of fire, then a second one 5 seconds later. Both of them wore off when the first one's ten seconds was up. They bot
No, it is definitely not a graphical issue. I had this happen to me yesterday when I decided to use staff of renewal on my Fire TB. I spent half the game experimenting with the bug too. Ring of Fire leaves a 10 second AoE effect wherever it is cast. The cool down is usually 10 seconds, which usually makes it impossible to have even attempt to cast a second AoE while there is still one active. BUT if you have enough cool down reducing flags/items, you can try to lay down a second Ring
lawl I vote for increasing the cool-down time
Alpha, I didn't say that the game has NO connectivity issues, and the point of this discussion wasn't to focus on the technical difficulties the game is facing right now because we all hope that they will be fixed. Proto, I agree that my idea wouldn't "solve" the rage quitting issue, because everyone will eventually have TONS of favor points. Personally, I already have so many that I don't even consider what I spend them on (but I'm not sure if thats due to the bugs). I just was
This is definatly a stupid post considering the game still has A shit ton of connectivity problems. there is a million reason for someone to leave a game. Most of the time its not even on purpose.
Wow. Really? Could you list all million reasons? The connectivity issues are only going be improved on, and I seriously don't think that its not on purpose most of the time . <p
First, Makerz, go youtube "Stephen Lynch super hero". OK then, I know a legitimate problem with losing favor points for rage quitting is that disconnects look like rage quits now, and disconnects don't really deserve to be penalized. I believe Frogboy mentioned that they are working on ways to differentiate between quits and disconnects, so maybe that would make this idea more feasible. He did mention that people tend to find ways to trick the system into thinking that they disconnect
I mentioned this in one of the dev journals just now, but I figured i'd put it in its own post too. Right now, one incentive for not rage quitting is that you won't be able to get your favor points for playing out the game to its finish. I'm still seeing a ton of rage quits though. I don't think it would be a bad idea for a person who rage quits to lose some of their previously earned favor points. They do something kinda like this in halo 3 on xbox live. In halo 3
I don't think it would be a bad idea if rage quitters actually LOST favor points on top of the fact that they don't get the favor point rewards at the end of the game. Halo 3 does this sort of thing on xbox live. If you win a game, you earn an experience point. If you lose a game, you earn nothing. if you LEAVE a game before its over, you actually will LOSE a point. I think a minor penalty like that would help deal with rage quitters.
It's not OP in my opinion. A lot of times to have any significant effect on a battle, you have to get into melee range. It doesn't really help you unless you are able to get back out of melee range. Getting to your towers isn't always enough to get your opponents to leave you alone either. As a tb, I like to get it and just play a slow paced game from far away. As UB, I almost never get it and just try to get stuff that allows me to hurt people a lot before they realize they need to run. Then
You know what? I do kinda feel bad. But I also get pissed at people who basically call the developers stupid over something that was probly carefully thought out. Put yourself in their shoes, people. Could I have made my point in a more politically correct way? perhaps. But i chose to succumb to the flameyness this time. Sorry.
Its not like it would matter much against other DG, but this would make it somewhat less viable for creep farming from range, which TB needs since he has so many other AoE. Also, since its Rain of Ice and not BLIZZARD, it is usually standard for all ranged Ice AoEs in all games (I mean the ones blizzard made anyway) to have be called Blizzard except here? The single hitting version is usually called ICE BLAST. So either take away its Splash DMG (or give it a small radius, maybe as
Even having somethign where you have to make the maps in a 3d editor would be better than nothing. But having an actual map editor would be nice. I want modability like supcom first though.
