I played a game of DOTA the other day and was frustrated by a couple of things, because I was used to DG and quite liked it: Graphics and resolution: in DOTA it is pretty much a guess where your enemy is, he be ganking you before he even becomes pixels on your screen. It's like having the field of view of a cartboard box. Also, being able to rotate and zoom is so nice, as I feel most comfortable playing (and overlooking the battlefield) in a certain way and quite often rotate the
What happened? (did the page not load, did it load halfway or only certain sections, or something else?)
Only if you all paid $50 for it and Stardock recieved every penny.
Actually he is spot on. First off the game costs $40 or $50 depending on which 'box version' you buy (either digital download or the other one with a real box) and multiply that by 100k and you get the right amount. He also says "sales", not "net profit". I was thinking joeuser was their own product but a quick glance on the site didn't tell me that. A

LOL the chance of me seeing someone refer to Agnus Dei here had to be smaller than winning the lotery twice in a row. I would have preferred the lotery though ;)

I have to say that I agree here. For a company like Stardock a seperate server should be within butget easy, and even if you have to share then this performance problem is reason enough to give your host a poke to have them ask joeuser to fix it.
What Joeuser.com has to do with Demigod's servers?
Err he explains in the very same paragraph? By the way the problems with speed I get are forum only, so according to your (SD's) post that has no correlation with joeusers.com? [edit] ah below post says databases too.
there maybe 6 servers runing but that doesn't mean they all hold the same amount i play WE and they have 7 servers 1 server has 1000 people so by our logic they have 7000 people online when they minght only have 1000
By that same logic there is an equal chance that they do have 7000 players, so what exactly is your point? Hamachi can also cause this problem, so better uninstall that while troubleshooting. Also, if you have more than one (internet) connectionm, for instance being wired to a local fileserver, try troubleshooting those connection, and connection priorities. Windows can often be a bit picky as to which connection it choses to do stuff with. Eg trying to connect to the internet with the local fileserver connection, and ignoring the cable to the internet.

Aye I reckon it's more a location thing. You could always join and ask them if you can stay if your ping is okay. Avoid FR, they are bastards to everyone not french, RUS generally can't speak a word of english and GER are cool guys but they will keep speaking german so if you don't understand then you're screwed :p
Now for some explanations as to why SSD is the better choice. Currently the X-25 Intel and the OCZ Vertex SSD drives are very fast and very reliable. Just to be clear the OCZ Vertex are the best SSD's you can get on the market at this time. With Reads of 230~260 MB/s and Writes of 130~170 MB/s and latency of 0.1 they can easily out perform 3~5 HDD's in a RAID0 configuration. Yes 1 OCZ Vertex SSD is like having 3 or more Ra

Check your memory (RAM) first. Use Memtest+ if you have no other tool for it yet. You might think RAM cannot be the issue but 90% of the time it is, and it can happen specifically in weird cases. I once had that I never had problems with a crashing pc except when I was playing WOW. Rules out pretty much anything but WOW kept crashing but after running memtest for 6 hours it showed a couple of errors, got new RAM and all was fixed. If you run the memtest let it run for a couple of hours (durin

I sort of agree here. I don't play online much but the forum servers definately suffer from a "oh god it's weekend again, I can't take another weekend" slowdown. Seen other posts saying pretty much the same. Maybe some weekend bottleneck issue at SD's hosting backbone?
