Well really its best to do a design mockup on how you want it to look, then add all the graphs etc once your happy with overall look. Not really that hard just spending time on it getting it setup on how you want it.

Because making icons on 2k or 9x wont use alpha blended icons and looks hideous. People want smooth alpha blended icons that XP use. Same reason goes for your Cursors!

Half Life2 DX9 FSAA issue was fixed i heard, whole time it was Valve who screwed up as they disbaled FSAA option, they said it was something they were working on from XBox and didnt fix it in the meantime so blames NVIDIA / ATI's Hardware. Some guys that were at QuakeCon Jafo said DOOM3 might not be ready till mid 2004 :o

iirc i heard plugins will be signed, and some switch with DX2 to only use those signed plugins, that way DxToys or other 3rd party plugins wont crash DX2 maybe...
