More than a week ago i tried the first time to add a player note through the website. of course i am logged in. here is what i get on big white letter on red background: Unable to add note due to database error. Please try again later. It never worked and still doesn't. tried it now for about 20 times on different days and hours with the latest firefox, latest opera, ie8 all under windows vista and with ff 2.0.0.20 under linux. additionally i could test
Quoting CelMare, reply 8would be nice if you get the "notes" function on your site to work. tried it since a week and allways when i try to send a note for some player it says in red "Unable to add note due to database error. Please try again later.". Working fine here
wtf? i have same error on 3 different pcs, two different os, 4 different browser. it ALLWAYS says the database error.
when do you get the "notes" funtion on you web site working? tried a since a week and allways get the error "Unable to add note due to database error. Please try again later.". tried it about 10 times with about 4 or 5 players. allways the same error.

there is something you can do: don't allow file modifactions when the game is already running. there are several possiblities to accomplish that. well actually i donÄt mean that the files cannot be changed anymore during client running, but that the content is already read into memory those it will not affect the running cleint. you could even load scripts into an encrypted file on disc, with an at runtime generated encryption key if you have memory problems. i dont really know h
OK, I get it. Im used to Warcraft where new levels dont open up until you have enough points in a tree.
err, it is the same here. new level of a skil does not show up until you have the previous one. the point is that if you want to skill to trees (lines here) at the same time you need to safe points in between. many of the skills are only aailable every two levels.
lol, you really think this is the reason why afrika is at the point it currently is? you really think what you say would change anything for them? redicules. no, a big one that makes his big money with the current state will try everything to hold this state. that's called lobbing! open your eyes and use your brains. ofcourse there are exagerations on both sides. you don't know what technology we already had for centuries but got bought by big ones to somply not go on the mark
its to get two or more skills that you can attain only at higher level as soon as possible. e.g. you have skill a and b that you can only get at level 5 or higher. when you get 5 and have already spent all your points up till now you only can get a or b and have to wait another level for the second one. i don't think this is such a complicated thing that with a bit thinking you couldn't get the point yourself. especially not if you looked on the skills they pick
well, if we are able to destroy everything but this damn bacteria you think we may not say destroyed the planet? it seems here are some people that want to split hairs to only make people that care about our planet redicules. edit: most people here seem to don't even know what the word arrogant means.
*sigh* you disagree by twisting the words in the mouth? no one want to stop technolagy advancement. its about don't doing it at all costs. it's about doing it smart. but there are to many that are consuming the planets resources in a way that gives only short profit but much to bear afterwards! you don't care about lets say the whales? fine. you dont care about what the lifeforms you destroy to drive your hammer? fine. others do. at least don't twist theire words arround. you
But saving the planet is not what we need to do or what we should say we need to do. It's us that we need to save the planet will be fine. In fact, people who say "save the planet" mean "save humanity"...
this is not true. sure many do that. but not all, not even the most. as i eplained in my first post, with saving the planet its ment the current balance, the current lifeforms. they are NOT safe! we already destroy
i know this. my question was more retorically (or how do you say that in english correctly?)
Another thought… how strange it is that skirmish mode was dropped instead of pantheon. Because of the light dark distinction, the only chance we had at OK matchmaking has been lost.
oh my, i had the same thought when it happend. wtf did they thought when they done this stupid thing.
I’d personally say let’s drop pantheon, reinstate skirmish, change the matchmaking to balance based on tota
@ EvilTesla-RG you heavaly missunderstood the definition of "clean" energy! clean means not that you dont take the energy from elsewhere but it means that you do it in a way without heavaly reducing the possiblity of living and surviving of nature and all of her "children". the point is the pollustion you produce. consuming ene
if i understand you right than it is you that is arrogant. no, i dont want to offend you. let me explain: they say "save the planet" meaning save not only the big ball we are living on but also the animals and vegetation, the diversity and beauty that exists. but you reduce your wish to only save us. to save us we do not need to save whales nor most of the other things that other beg for. so who is has the arrogant statement? p.s.maybe i m
there may be other reasons why the win% is a bad indicator but what oyu wrote here is wrong. indeed the more games someone played the less ONE games influences the percentage. but this is not an argument against it as indicator. in contrary the long run shows even better the "skill" as longer it is. because the initial learning time that may caused many losses gets more and more less important and vanishes from the percentage. so basically the shown percentage is allways a bit
indeed, i only used this terms here traffic wise. well, i think now it is clear ;)
I picked up Demigod because I thought it had space for casual players as well as hardcore players. Wasn't that how it was marketed? Maybe the real problem isn't PUGs vs. premades, it's that the community is too small and the interface isn't set up effectively enough to segregate hardcore vs. casual players.
QFT!
Quoting CelMare, reply 13because of problems that sometimes occure to point 2) they added proxy-support. this basically ads server-host functionallity to demigod. if two cannot connect to each other someone else or a dedicated server is hosting the game for that person(s). this is also a very good idea.Actually, only the connection itself is proxied. There is no dedicated hosted game for that person.
that is exactly what i me
no, to make it p2p was the only best desicion they made. some of the mentioned rts games indeed hat host/server based architecture. but that was not my point. the reason for this trouble is still not the p2p architecture. in fact p2p architecture REDUCES HEAVALY latency. of course only if 1) done right 2) if there are working routs between the players. because of problems that sometimes occure to point 2) they added proxy-support. this basically ads server-host function
you are kidding? you mean the reason that nearly all players "enjoy" the worst network-wise behaviour in online-games history is due to all of us having bad inet-connection? well, i think all the people already left due to this problem were also playing with old-school modems, right? that is exactly what i call ignorance.... there are so many complains about this, so many already left and then comes one up posting minimum system requirements. WTF? p.s. bt
does it matter? i'm sure you know what he wanted to say. has it any purpose to dig deeper into some of his words of frustration? edit: too late ;)
My tip-> autokick players with desync problems. morph, the purpose is to inform the players of: "sorry, we are not in the mood to fix the desync by resyncinc ni seconds because we are to occupied implementing modding support. hence wait another year. maybe we fix it then."
Without dropping, you managed to get 0 favor points. Amazing. Try raising a ticket on the Stardock website, so we can be sure they know about it.
