When using Start8 1.30.1 I only get the start menu on the main taskbar screen when I have start buttons on each Taskbar. Is it possible to get the start menu to correctly render on the right screen that the Start button is pressed on and not just the primary taskbar?

Good work guys. I have a bug to report on the 1.0 version with Diplomacy though. About 2hrs in it crashed with a minidump. I have 2 dumps of the issue as there was a save 2 mins before the first one. Pity it was a good game too XD

Can't test framerates at the moment so I couldn't really tell if it was working. Win7 is good but not stable enough to be main OS IMO, mainly seeing as any punkbuster game won't work properly. I have two other partitions and I always have an XP based backup in case Win 7 cans it. Try setting your computer to be the in the DMZ. This will mean you have no firewall protection, but should test if the router is causing the issues.
You are using a beta OS with only a single WHQL driver out from nVidia. If you are using ANY other driver than the WHQL one you are barking up the wrong tree. Xan the publisher of Space Siege and Forged Alliance has gone into receivership (THQ). The problem was caused by unscheduled server maintenance that affected the demigod multiplayer servers. It was NOT Stardock or GPG's fault this occured.
I can tell you now it's not just a faulty driver if you have tried many different drivers. It can be a fault in the card (there were many with the 8600GTS) plus that's a pretty bad card anyway (had more issues with that card series than any other). If your cooling is awesome you wouldn't have heat issues anyway. The quick and dirty method to solve your problem is to stick a board powered fan over the top of the stock card fan. It's quite simple. Impulse has a Reg key that knows where the install is. Change that to where you want and you can stick the Folder almost anywhere you want and Impulse will verify it fine. Had to change it so it works across three OS's without needing three installs :)

Personally I would just stick an 80mm fan over the top of your gfx card one and run it off the mobo. The 8600GTS was a good card, but has poor reliability record (falls in the faulty manufacturing bin from nVidia). For about $200 you can get the 4850 from ATI which would wipe the floor with that card and doesn't have the nVidia crap manufacturing process issues that have plagued their chipsets from 79xx to 9xxx chipsets. This is a SERVER issue NOT a local issue. The timed out ID's are not being forced off the list like they normally do. The servers have too much load on them to cope at the moment :(
The minion movement is borked. After the first wave they meet in the wrong places. Gives one side too much advantage. Rethink minion movement and possibly travel.

What card are you running? If its an ATi that is a known issue and can be fixed by using Rivatuner or ATi Tray Tools to manually set the fan to 100%. You shouldn't limit the FPS to save GPU temp as you'll more than likely be introducing lag into the game too (especially over net games). As for money a Radeon HD 4850 is about $190 AUD which is a damn bargain for a really good card. Spend $10 more and you get a 1GB version.

Its actually just a registry error. Demigod can't find it's settings in the registry for some reason. I had the same issue, but I can rectify it easier than most as I had DG installed on another OS too. Just grabbed the reg settings from there and restarted impulse. It needed to verify the files again but it all worked fine :)
