On my wish list - I would love for someone to throw together some sort of common intro for us to use at the start of our matches. I think I had a good idea showing the win % and ladder rank of folks (but I won't be implementing the commentary I wanted for this one over that title page (where I show the win % - I wanted to talk through each players playstyle and so on). Anyway, the overall game I picked it just a scrub, somewhat
p.s. Pacov, use fraps.. records voice, video, game sound, and you start / stop with a hotkey at anytime. Well... I like that, but I'm going to see what I can find around for free... hopefully something. edit - you know who would be funny as shite doing replay commentary? Peter. Someone would do something silly and he would start into a rant about something. I'd find it amusing anyway
<
Xmarks is looking into the possibility of a paid service. They are looking for people to pledge to the service to see if it is viable. The plege is $10/year. Nothing is donated at this time, they are just performing research to see if it is a viable option. Here is a link to the story http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/would_you_pay_10year_keep_xma
In regards to your first post, yes. One team will have to pick first for the first game, second for the second game and the outcomes will determine who picks first for the 3rd game. in regards to your second post, i actually agree with that and am debating my current vote.
Brasher, i love your idea, thanks for suggesting! Maybe we can try to incorporate it somehow. j
Thanks Brasher !!
Vote for #1 for me.
4nana, also, if your initial render is lossless then expect large video sizes! a 1.5 minute animation for me runs just shy of 6 gigs. hrmm i wonder if i would have time to do a highlights film. Guys, please keep that in mind when reviewing replays, and timestamp the best plays for me. If i have time to edit a highlight film after the tourney i'd love to do it. Im currently have 1 play to edit and create menus/cover & transitions for, and another on
p.s. jeebus.. this rendering bumped my cpu usage from an idle ~40-50% to ~80-95%. Quadcore barely hangin in there Lol wtf, 20 gb? Program's pretty much useless then I think.
Useless, no. Your first render should most likely be in a lossless format. I prefer Video for Windows (a typical setting in AE and vegas etc.). A lot of people suggest quicktime PNG or
Orcun, you've been added to the tally, thanks! Thanks Darz, that's a great solution should we not be able to get a temporary sub forum here!! (i would prefer it in the DG forums for simplicity) Darz, can you vote please?
Hey maybe Stardock and MaximumPC should enter teams :) !! Which guys at MaxPC and PCG played? I think Nathan did....
Vote: My vote is Tourney rules for all 3 games of the match, primarily because we took the time to agree on a decent system. Rules Proposed Tourney Organization Rule: If a team drops out [Team A] and doesn't complete all of their matches, any points earned by beating Team A will be stripped from all teams that played and won against Team A.&
Thank you Orcun! That means a lot coming from you :)
I added you to the list Doggu, thanks! There are plenty of excellent players that currently aren't teamed up yet, i recommend start talking with them!
That's AWESOME Brad, thanks! Im sure you'll keep me posted Pacov. Oh man, this is cool lol. J
i'll check tonight, i dont know if i have any worthy of note since the latest patch.
Oh i see, well hopefully they will still contribute :) Guys, if you are on the contribution list please PM me if you can still donate or if you can't. Thanks! j
Also, just to be sure that i'm clear, it's a per game basis and not a per "match" basis. Since it's best of 3 you the loser still has the possibility of gaining 1 point for the match.
Point system suggestions: System 1: You win a game, you get 1 point. If you lose a game you get 0 points. The teams with the most points are the winners (or go onto a final shoot-out, which can be discussed after the point system is ironed out) That's about as simple as it gets, why have anymore? System 2: (weighted - controversial) You win a game you get
Here is the donation thread: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/398009 Also Pacov, we can discuss the percentages either in this thread or that one. I added the preliminary percentages that i originally posted cause when i was typing it up I forgot that you wanted to have that discussion prior to posting. I'll just leave it in there for now and can update it if necessary.
This is related to the tournament discussions located here: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/396231/page/1/#replies Special thanks to S T A R D O C K for their support of the tournament! Tournamen
And is there anyone out there looking for practice games tonight with tourney rules 9-11EST?
Yes
I have some but will there be compatibility issues if they are older than the current release? I think Mcshane is interested in doing them and I am as well. what type of software should we use? I was thinking fraps and an audio capture which could easily be spliced with vegas. (if fraps cant be configured to capture audio from the mic. - havent tried that)
My vote is high towers although it does change the balance :-)
T HIS POLL CLOSES TONIGHT ! If you haven't voted on the tournament style yet please do so. As of now it appears that it will be a full round robin tournament [details to be discussed & perhaps voted on next].
