The Yor don't have spammable economy buildings or normal morale and farm structures. The Arceans don't have normal engine tech. You are correct in that at least 60% of the techs are the same. There is some variations, but all trees have the same colonization, (most) weapons, defenses, miniaturization, logistics, life support, sensors, asteroid mining, etc. <br

[quote who="Noctilucus" reply="7" id="2243914"] Quoting Zoltor, reply 6 They should of more accurately explained how it works(in the blogs they wrote, and the interviews they gave), but basicall everyone has all the assential tech trees(however different races might have to take differnt paths to get said tech), but different races can get special unique techs(these techs are Bonus type techs, and although may make different aspects of the game slightly easie

[quote who="WIllythemailboy" reply="2" id="2243808"]Short answer, no. Basically all you can do is move one point at a time and se where you end. Once you are out of points for the turn, you can highlight the ship and play with the autopilot to see where you can possibly get to *next* turn, but that's about it. I'm new to the game as well, but at very least the Twilight expansion seems to have a range rad(can be seen on the mini map, as a different shade of grey), however I don't re

[quote who="Noctilucus" reply="5" id="2242335"]Hm, true, though after playing some games you'll be more familiar with the benefits of each tech. I've never used Galactopedia, but as far as I know it's designed to bring more clarity in the tech tree and non-tech elements of the game: http://www.kynosarges.de/Galactopedia.html Dark Avatar doesn't change that radically compared to Dread Lords but I agree it's good to get familiar with DL / DA before moving on to Twilight. [quote quoting="post"]hi all, my apologies if this post is in the wrong place...i'm new to the forums and the game and haven't found a better place for it. one annoying thing i'm struggling with is being unable to see how far a ship can go in one turn before it goes on autopilot. i find this a hindrance when trying to intercept another ship or otherwise planning my movement points carefully. is there any way to turn on a "movement radius" for ships?<br /

[quote who="Noctilucus" reply="3" id="2242079"]Well, I think the option "view more" and the ability to zoom in and out in the tech tree help a lot in getting a good overview. I'm not sure whether in Twilight of the Arnor you can still see for each technology what you need to research before; I believe this was possible in the earlier expansions. For the order of what to research, this will also depend a lot on the race if you're playing the Twilight of the Arnor expansion

[quote who="Noctilucus" reply="1" id="2241973"]Do you mean "how can I build a survey vessel, a constructor, a colony ship, etc."? In that case, you need to add the corresponding component: you have weapons, defenses, engines, then a 4th category of ship elements and that is where you can find those components. Though for survey vessels you need to research some technologies first. Custom constructors and colony ships can be built from the start. As a specific example: yo

Sorry don't mind me, I was half asleep, and thus didn't think of something(that sometimes these companies don't make zeros with a line through the., if they don't add owes to any of their reg keys, so after I edited that, it worked/downloaded updates). (Bangs his head on the dest, for making such an oversight) PS. If a mod can delete this thread, it would be apreciated.
